A very odd story from Manteca California that happened on Tuesday when a female dog named Luna needed help to get out a jam when her head was stuck outside a brick wall in her owner's home while the lower part of her body was trapped inside. Luna's owner whose name was not mentioned called the Lathrop Manteca Fire Department to free the dog from the trap that she was in. The Lathrop Manteca Fire Department managed to use a pinch bar and sledge hammer to free Luna from her trap. The owner of Luna was embarrassed over the incident. However Luna is okay now after her scare in her owner's home. Thank you Lathrop Manteca Fire Department for doing your duty to rescue a dog that was trapped in a brick wall.

I know what you mean since some dogs just do not know how to stay out of trouble.

She is very much like my Luna when she was a baby. She looks like as she was a German shepherd. Dogs love to get into holes and then they cannot come out. I´d Have used a hammer with great care instead of calling the Fire Department.

@Deepizzaguy I hope Luna will grow up. She is still a puppy in spite of her size.

Some dogs do crazy things when they are young.

I wonder how the dog ended up in that position. Do the owner told how this happened?

@Deepizzaguy Even adult dogs sometimes underestimate the size of the holes. The dog of one of my friend killed herself putting her head through a metal fence. She was stuck, tried to free her head and killed herself, very sad.

The story is that the owner of the dog Kerri noticed that when her dog did not answer her when she called Luna, she found Luna stuck in the hole outside of her home. Luna is a puppy so maybe she underestimated the size of the hole in the wall.

The fire department, police, medics are constantly getting cats and dogs out of similar situations--it is not at all odd here in South Florida!

I have heard that fire fighters in some states get calls from people to rescue their animals a lot.

It's amazing the scrapes that animals can get themselves into. One of the myLotters has a dog called Luna too.

@theend The dog is a puppy and maybe Luna's curious nature got the best of her.

It is good to know that you're fire department is actively doing any kind of recue mission in your community. I think when things like this happens it feels good that you see people trying everything to save not only human lives but others as well.

Now that was not a very smart doggy. Makes me think that the hole must have been there for a while so just recently something happened to make the dog put its head in there. Now the owner must patch up the hole.

The most likely scenario why Luna got into a jam.
