We all suffer. Some handles sufferings better than others. Some fall into depression - some manages to get out the depression but others, they either go mad or commit suicide. How do you handle trials/sufferings?

Well I always turn to family. But most importantly to God. Specially when the problem is caused by family and I had no one else to turn to. I also turn to music. Singing is a good anti stress for me.

There are times when music makes it worse for me. Sometimes, there are lines in music, even the fun and inspirational music, that makes it worse.

@flapiz Really? But I don't think you're strange. For me, you are strong because you can face your problems.

@pinoycity Oh? I’m strange like when I’m broken hearted I like sad music. It makes me accept it more easily. And helps me cry and let it out.

Honestly, I am a very sensitive person, sometimes I am easily depressed by bad scenario but somehow my weaknesses make me stronger as time goes by. Well, it is our instinct to recover from the wound.

That's how it should be - weakness should makes us stronger. But in some people, especially those who are weak emotionally, they cannot handle trials, sufferings, rejections.

@simplfred Yes, there are people who seems to be a magnet to sufferings. On the other hand, there are people who seems so lucky in life (or, are they just quite good in handling life?)

@pinoycity Indeed, but we can't blame them sometimes. When trials and sufferings work likes infinity on them.

Some people thrive in situations where there are problems. They look for solutions and they profit from it.

I have been through a lot and have learned through all of the sufferings to praise God even for the suffering. Probably only Christians will understand this. However, I have survived so much and am here to Praise God and tell the tale.

The Bible says, "My brothers, consider yourselves fortunate when all kinds of trials come your way, for you know that when your faith succeeds in facing such trials, the result is the ability to endure." (James 1:2-3)

@Jackalyn As they usually say, you will never know what happiness is if you do not know what it feels like to be sad. Sufferings are here so that we can appreciate our blessings more, even the little things. Easy to say, though.

@pinoycity That is exactly right. I often quote that when I preach. I learned this in a very dark trial.

I am extremely sensitive and when there is something wrong I easily feel down, but I always find a reason to fight back.

Good for you. I believe we really have to fight back always. Sometimes for me, though, the effort to fight back is not that high that it leaves me depressed.

@LadyDuck Indeed, something or someone so important that it can get us up every morning. That is one way of fighting depression.

@pinoycity We have to find a meaning in life that is so important to allow us to fight.

The sufferings make person strong.. somehow feeling positive can make us get away from the depression feeling. Concentrate on things that make you feel better and keeping busy yourself will be helpful to come out of depression.

I am quite an overthinker, so even a small problem will bug me for days I try to ask for advice or vent them out to my friends though

Ha ha ha, poor friends of yours. Kidding aside, having someone to whom you can share your sufferings is a big blessing.

It looks great for me if I ever go through a problem- because then I get a chance to chant.

That's interesting. What does chanting do to you, does it calm you down?

I initially felt depressed. Then, I try to overcome it by thinking about the happy moments of my life and planning something better for future.

They say it is better for a person suffering a depression to have someone listen to him/her. I think, a depressed person initially, does not really need to be given advise. He/She only needs to blurt out his feelings so that he/she can release some angst inside.

I used to resist them, but that just made them even more challenging. Now I just ride out the storm calmly, knowing that all will be well no matter what the outcome.

No chance resisting them, they will just make you more depressed. Sufferings and trials will come, come what may.

But it’s part of our life no one is exempted. I used to hate it but as i age, i have come to learn to accept them because they make us wiser and tougher.

Yeah, aging is not really that bad after all. Aging makes us more mature, makes us see things clearly, makes us appreciate small things.

Don't we all? Problems are in abundance in this world. But what a boring world it would be if there are no problems. We will be just like robots.

It's may not easy to handle the life's blow but we should find courage to face it. The best way is to seek guidance and strength from the One up above.

Most of the time, people who are into depression are into denial. As a result, the depression becomes deeper.
