Meet Mia, she belongs to Carol and Hank. While visiting them a while ago I sat in their back yard simply talking to their dogs, they have 3, Mia is the new puppy. Now I love puppies and have learned over the years that I can get really cool reactions whenever I try to cluck like a chicken ...... yes, you heard me, I tried to cluck like a chicken. Apparently I sound really funny, just look at that cute lil mug trying to figure out what the hell is wrong with me. Isn't she just plain adorable? I'm also thrilled I can still see well enough to take pictures, I have a small hole in the retina of my left eye which the doc wants to repair. I will have the surgery in late October and then I will have to remain completely face down for a few days or weeks, that's bound to be the hardest part of the whole thing.

Mia is really cute. I did not know that after retina surgery you need to remain face down, this sound horrible.

I think she is too. I didn't know about the face down thing either but the doctor explained I would have to do that to prevent pressure on the eyeball while healing.

I can just picture you clucking like a chicken. Oh, my. So surgery is needed. I can imagine being face down would be crummy, but you must do what you need to do to get well. I hope you will have help!

Oh yeah, Hank just gave me that 'you're crazy' look but I did manage to get this shot of her so it was worth it. Yeah, remaining face down is going to present problems I've never had before, the worst part is that the surgery is in my left eye and it's my right eye that has amblyopia and is technically blind. So much for TV let alone the Web.

I've been busy trying to figure out how to manage all this @DianneN as for washing, I won't be allowed to take a shower for at least a day or two depending on how long I have to wear the eye patch. I'm taking Max to the vet tomorrow, I have to find out why he vomits so often. It could be his age or maybe something else.

EyeYeyeYeye @much2say that dern spell check don dided it again. Hey, I figure why not blame the spell check, right? I'm not sure if I will need help for more than a day or two, if so a friend has offed to let me stay with them for that short period of time, my only concern is Ally, she can't just stay in the house for 2 days, she'll need to go out and pee etc. The worst part is she's never been all alone before so I'm not sure how to deal with her. Thanks for your concern but I wager I will be just fine, maybe I will only have to stay face down for a day or two which I can handle on my own, it is amazing what a person can do when they have to.

I wish I had gotten a shot of Hanks face but he's too quick. He was getting a good chuckle outta all that. Ok, so was I No TV or Web while I heal, I don't have any real sight in my right eye and it's the left eye that has the whole so I'll be a little blind for a while.

Face down? Now, that would be hard to do all the time. I hope it goes well, the surgery that it. Mia's face is precious!

Yep, face down. I'm not really sure how to deal with that idea, I do know it will be mighty borning since watching TV means using a mirror or lying the TV flat on the floor plus I need to finagle a way to support my forehead while I try to sleep on my belly, it'll be really different for sure.

Good point @just4him I just hope that after the eye heals my vision will be at least the same as before that hole happened

@rebelann Yes, it will. At least you're getting your eye fixed and it will be worth it when it's better.

It's not easy to offend me @BabeSays ..... I did try to kidnap her when she was still tiny enough to walk off with but all that has changed

What a cute puppy? No wonder she is focussed on you. Clucking like a chicken . And laying face down for ages - that will be pretty difficult I would think.

She is a sweetie. I thought I did a pretty good chicken cluck but then who knows what she was hearing. Yeah, the whole face down thing is not going to be fun.
