Romans 8:38,39

This is one of my favorite verses in the Holy Bible and I'll tell you why. "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." NIV I read in one of Corrie Ten Boom's books years ago that this verse enabled her to survive a Nazi death camp in World War II. The part about the depth of God's love was deeper than the depravity and horror of her torture. So, is there anything that can separate us from God's love? There's nothing that can prevent his love for us, but we can prevent that love being fulfilled in our lives. We can totally reject Him and He will let us run our own lives. Like a father with a stubborn and obstinate child, He will let us learn some lessons the hard way. But He's always there, ready to welcome us home. There's nothing we can do that will make our Father say, "Okay, you've crossed the line now. Your sins are too horrible for me to forgive you." Back to the verse. I know that as long as I don't choose it, neither life nor death can separate me from God. Angels and demons can't do it. Satan can influence us if we let him. That's why the Bible warns against being involved with the occult. I know more than I know anything else in this world that there is nothing that can separate us from God's love which was shown through the death and resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ. Unless we reject Him. It's our choice. I choose God.

That's a powerful verse and does show the depth of God's love for us. I like that Paul said he was convinced. Sometimes it takes a lot of convincing to realize how much God loves us. Once we realize that, our faith is unshakeable.

For me there is no other choice. God is my Life-Giver. Why would I not want his love?
