Happy Monday Everyone!
Two things to celebrate today and here in the US we're celebrating Columbus Day. It's a holiday and many workplaces are closed as well as the schools.
The second thing to celebrate....for our friends in Canada it's Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays and I can't wait for ours next month.
For me, today is just a routine day. It's a rainy day and we don't have anything exciting going on. My daughter doesn't have to work today so who knows what the day will bring. We might do something or it could just turn out to be a hang around kind of day.
The one thing I know is at some point we have to watch the season premiere of The Walking Dead which aired last night. As I've mentioned in other posts my DVR is always clogged and this season there's been so many scheduling conflicts with favorite shows. So, since TWD aired in the middle of the night we recorded it then so we could record something else. I'm really hoping this season isn't a huge disappointment.
Now it's coffee time and some myLot chatting.
Are you celebrating anything today?

Most places here were still open today. Even the post office.
I cant wait for thanksgiving either, even though itll just be me and my mom or us and my brother. Depends on if he works or not. Either way we plan to do a latw lunch / early dinner, go bowling and put up the tree before bed while listening to christmas music.
I had my niece and nephew all day today, and two of my cousins for part of it as they slept over for the first time last night.

We usually put our tree up the weekend after Thanksgiving and I can't believe it's right around the corner. When I went to Hobby Lobby Christmas has already exploded in that store.

@Marilynda1225 Christmas stuff has been in most of our stores for the past month. I love walking in and seeing it all. if we didn't have our thanksgiving traditions, our tree would already be up.

I gave up TWD, I had an unhealthy addiction to that show and then it began to suck so I skipped last year and I lived just fine without it. However, one day, one year, I will watch the seasons I missed all in one sitting.

I won't give up on it even though I've binge watched a few of the older seasons.

Thank you Marilyn!
I know about Thanksgiving and the reason behind it, but can I ask about Columbus Day and how it came to be?
We left all of the leftovers at our son's place after our nice feast, so today I am making soup, but it is not turkey soup. Its fall and its a fall soup.
This afternoon we will just kick back and relax together, enjoy your day today.

Columbus Day is celebrated because it's when Christopher Columbus landed in the Americas back in 1492. It's become controversial but it remains a holiday anyway.
