I mentioned in a previous post that I could not sleep last night, and was up watching DVRed stuff and working on Artist Trading Cards. Bree ( @isweartokira ) asked what an Artist Trading card was, so I thought I'd explain it to folks that hadn't heard of it. If I remember right, it was only last year that I learned what they were. An artist trading card is a little piece of art that can be hand drawn, painted, a collage--whatever--usually done on a 2.5 x 3.5" card. The backing can be cut from a cereal or cracker box or be a playing card, or..? There are I don't know how many groups on Facebook for folks that make these cards--I belong to one that's strictly cards and another for showing off those and other kinds of "art" that members are making. ATC makers, particularly in the one FB group I belong to, have albums in which they can showcase the Artist Trading Cards that they've made. If they want, they can trade them with other artists. Pictured are the ones I was working on early this morning. I took a photo of a rose, made it black and white on LunaPic dot com, and made it ATC sized x 4 on Microsoft Word Starter. Then I printed them out and colored them with gel pens. I just need to put the page on a backing and cut them out, then I'll label them (who did it, the "art title" and when I did it) and put them in my FB group album.

Ohhhhh, I love that! I wish I had more time to get involved in groups like this! Back in the days, I used to do a lot of rubber stamping (on top of traditional art stuff) - so I got into Mail Art with folks from around the world. You make duplicates and send them to people who will do the same.

@xstitcher Well the Mail Art was mostly rubber stamped stuff . . . but I would add touches of acrylic painting and color pencil if needed. Sometimes watercolor.

@isweartokira You're very welcome, Bree. I'm glad you asked, because I forget that not everybody knows what I'm talking about. I liked the idea, too when I first saw it on Facebook. Making these is a nice way to relax.
