Have you received famous autographs either through the mail or through someone you know (without meeting the famous people)? This happened to me twice. First , it was back in the mid 70s. I was a 12 year old who had been in an auto accident and I was in the hospital. My Uncle was a part of the DNC Democrat Presidential Campaign. He was able to get Presidential Candidate Jimmy Carter of my home State of Georgia, to sign a get well letter. It was sent to me through the mail. It was a very nice gesture. He was also able to get the Governor of Georgia at the time and a Senator he personally knew to send get well letters also. It was nice to receive. Second, was in the early 80s. My Sister and I had a big crush on a British Band called "The Human League". We had bought a record album of theirs. This was still the day of records and record players. We noticed on the back of the album their recording company over in Britain. It was called Virgin ( I think I remember that name right). We decided to send a fan letter to the group through the Record Company we found on the back. We really did not think we would get a response, but a month or so later, we got a poster from the band and each member had personally signed it! We were shocked and pleased! Have you received any autographs of famous people through the mail, but not met them personally?

My mom just did this summer, as my brother went to a comic con and got the autograph of the orginial pink power ranger for her on a photo. Which was extra cool cause the actress is from here and went to our high school.

It depends on what you consider famous. I have a lot of autographs in books by authors when I won their book (so never met them), autographed books by authors WHEN I met them, autographed photos from soap stars, and a few letters signed by the authors. Oh, and when I was a teenager my friend had access to the players on the Toronto Maple Leafs. So I actually met them, took pictures, then went back later with the pictures and had them autograph them. None of these people are overly famous. We did send a letter to David Beckham to get an autograph for my daughter for her birthday. He sent a signed photo. I wish I had met some of the authors and actors personally.
