A few days ago, I woke up at around 4 a.m. But--since my Internet was down--I went back to sleep. I didn’t wake up again until NINE-THIRTY---THREE-AND-A-HALF-HOURS LATER THAN NORMAL! That’s when I realized a couple things (although it might also have been caused by a third thing---eating dinner an hour earlier than usual the night before): 1) like we talked about in my Brain-Injury Survivors’ Support-Group, a person NEEDS a 'hobby'---something they can do or think-about that ‘fulfills their brain’s hunger for accomplishment.’ (a hunger fed by ‘dopamine,’ a chemical the brain makes) And 2) my ‘hobby’ is ‘doing stuff on the Internet.’ (Writing like this, yes; but more-often it’s playing computer-games (mostly puzzle-type games) “while waiting for people to respond to my writing”). What hobby do you think is best to keep your brain "crisp"?
The word “ Hobby ” is rooted in an ancient Proper- Name for a Horse (like Fido is possibly the Dog-Equivalent of "Phillip")—the equiva...

It looks like the link you provided isn't your own blog? You can set the link off with two spaces above and under it for it to show as a link, or find one from an online dictionary instead it might have a better definition. I saw this on the sidebar, and I realize it's a bit old, but that's fine with me. I realized I've not run into you before and either you've been here about as long as me or we've interacted with others about the same amount of time. Puzzles help the brain stay strong and ballroom dancing is supposed to be helpful with that too. Anything that improves our thinking capacities.

@MarshaMusselman no, but I've added 'http'-links (no 's') WITHOUT adding blank lines in between

I love your summation of why one needs a hobby - I shall use that with my hubby soon as I need to remind him in his pension years to keep his brain as you say "crisp"

I like being active here on Mylot (which exercises my brain to think). I also do some crossword puzzles, etc.

We all have to find what works for us. I enjoy photography. Nature is my favorite.

I wouldn't be in mylot if I didn't enjoy writing. Learning a foreign language can be challenging. I also like to do crosswords.

Like Tony Stark said "we all have our own happy" and mine is running. It not only make my brain crisp but also my body.
