Today is Tie-Dye Tuesday at my school. The students and teachers are all allowed to wear tie-dye t-shirts with the school logo on the front on Tuesdays. The shirts are sold at the beginning of the year as a fundraiser. The color scheme changes each year. I didn't buy one last year. This year I did. The colors this year are shades of blue ranging from a deep indigo to light sky blue. Does/did your workplace have a day set aside during the week when the dress code was relaxed?

Right now I'm wearing one of the many tee shirts and sweatshirts I bought for school fundraisers over the years. We always had dress down days on payday, but paid $50 for them at the beginning of the school year. The money always went to a good cause.

This year we had a second t-shirt sale to raise money for a sister school in New Bern that suffered extensive damage from Hurricane Florence. They were not tie-dyed, but Carolina blue with both schools names and Carolina Strong on the front.

@DianneN We hoped to raise a couple of hundred dollars and wound up with almost two thousand. It was a big help as it allowed several students whose parents were paying monthly to keep the kids in school.

I wish I had gotten one last year. It was green, orange, and white. Very snazzy.

The last place I worked the manager did unless we were expecting the powers that be to come in. It can lift the spirits .

The students look forward to tie-dye Tuesday. It is the next best thing to an out of uniform pass.

@wolfgirl569 I have long been a proponent of school uniforms in all schools. Data shows it helps reduce a lot of discipline problems.

@DWDavis I am sure they do. But I do think uniforms in all schools could solve some problems also. Clothes are used as a status item anymore.

One of my students who earned an out of uniform pass asked if she could wear her Halloween costume to school. I sent that question up to the Principal. These days, with my luck, I'd have said yes and she'd have come in dressed as Miley Cyrus in Wrecking Ball.

@DWDavis I wouldn't think a faith based school would allow the students to dress up. When I went to a faith based school we weren't allowed to.

I love the idea especially for a school. My workplace is always relaxed because I'm an artist and plays with paints every day...

Since I run my own businesses I allow people to wear what they want when I hire them. It was always fun to do that at school.

As a Catholic School the students wear school uniforms, but Tie-Dye Tuesday gives them a chance to be in uniform but not be quite so uniform.
