He opened up the bullet-proof glass for me!

I just got a non-verbal compliment. I went to the local Mobil station to get some beer and Gatorade, and the guy behind the counter immediately opened up the bullet-proof glass window upon seeing me. We chatted, as we always do, while I made my purchase, and I heard him slide the bullet-proof glass window shut as I left. Do gas stations in your area have bullet-proof sliding windows? I don't live in a particularly dangerous neighborhood, but the freeway near my home is on a "corridor" between two fairly rough towns, and gas stations often get robbed on weekend nights. Ain't that America.

I’d open my bulletproof glass for a Horse, too. Hard to shoot with hooves! Some of the stations have bulletproof checkouts, others don’t. Like NJ, I rarely buy anything but gas at gas stations, so unless I have an overflowing bladder, I pay at the pump and go on my merry way.

This gas station actually doesn't have a potty. The Humanity!

Interesting. I don't buy anything at gas stations besides gas so I never go inside. I don't think they have bulletproof glass in them though.

I have not seen or heard about such stations. And having such an arrangement could be costlier. Some wealthier owners of such stations do however have a good rapport with the local police and that can help them in thwarting the hooligans, though in case if a riot (though uncommon) anything can happen.

When armed robbers go to gas stations, they usually are gone by the time the police arrive.

The nearby Chevron station, which is closer to the freeway, does NOT have bullet-proof glass. They've been held up a few times as well.

Only banks have bulled-proof "NON" sliding windows here, not gas stations and not any other kind of commerce.

No, gasoline stations don't have that here. But if it is attempted to be robber mire than once, then that bullet proof glass should really be installed.

@TheHorse If one is getting robbed often then this one is really needed. In addition, CCTV also should be installed.

I guess it's necessary in some situations. The Chevron station across the freeway does not have bullet-proof glass. They've been robbed a few times too.

@thehorse On the several times that I’ve been shot at the bullets had the good sense to go around me rather than straight through.

None of the stations I have seen in Oregon have those windows. We still have people who are hired to pump our gas too.

I think the guy pulled down that glass because he wanted to shoot at Pony...just that there may have been too many witnesses around so he did not get the opportunity.
