I have been working on this piece of cross stitch for what seems like forever. In actually time, I started this a couple of years ago. This Christmas it will be wrapped and under the tree with my sister-in-laws name attached to it. Boy will she be surprised. I love making handmade gifts for my loved ones. It gives me pleasure and makes them feel special. Have you begun your lists of what to give to who? I always start my list super early so I can hopefully get a small and big gift done for each person. I can't wait for Christmas, I know I am early but I so love that holiday. But first we have Thanksgiving to celebrate. I can't wait for all the good food and good company. Are you a holiday type person?

Congratulations this is a beautiful little piece you made. I like Christmas, but I never decorate before the first week of December.

@HazySue She will surely like your gift. We traditionally decorate the day of Saint Nicholas, the 6th of December.

That is such a cute little piece. When I saw it the word "whimsy" came to mind. It definitely makes me think of warmer weather. It's cold and rainy here today. Of course I love the cold. I was thinking I might put on my "footie pajamas" today as it's that cold out. Anyway, I haven't started narrowing down what I am going to get for who but I will do so soon. I like the holidays but I feel like decorations should wait until after Thanksgiving.

It is still warm here in Florida. My tree usually is put up right after Thanksgiving too. My SIL loves gardening so I believe she will like it.

@HazySue A friend of mine posted a screenshot on snapchat, it appears we may have the possibility of snow next week! I am not sure that it will come to pass though. We don't have room for a tree, but I'll sort other decorations out soon enough.

That is absolutely beautiful!!!! I've made quilts and done needlepoint in the past. It takes forever, but so worth it in the end. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I love everything about it, but most of all, being with my family.

Very nicely done. I don't have the steady hands or the eye sight to do fine crafts anymore. I am not a fan of the holidays because of the stress involved. And gift giving is a stress for me. Last year I had hoped we, just my husband and two daughters, could have a tropical Christmas. I tried earlier in the year this year to get it to happen but the fact of the matter is with my daughter working for the airlines and the screening area in the airport, she can't get time off during busy travel holiday seasons. Going away eliminates all the stresses related to the holidays - shopping, gift wrapping, baking, cooking, entertaining, socializing, decorating. Ugh! Too much.

That is a beautiful work of art you did on that cross-stitch. I love the pattern and I'm sure your sister in law will love it and appreciate all the time you put into making her gift. Yes I love the holidays and am already in the Christmas spirit. I would put up my tree but it's even a little too early for me

nice cross stitch. My mother used to cross stitch. I have tried it once, but I'm always losing my thread out of the needle and I have a hard time getting the needle back threaded. I already did most of my Christmas shopping. I just have to get a Petsmart gift card for my fiance on Black Friday. I give calendars to my best friend, and my mother. I decided to get my uncle a day planner this year.
