Went to David Cook acoustic concert at Sony Hall last night

So I went to see David Cook in concert last night. It was at Sony Hall. What I found interesting and unusual about this venue is that there are rows of tables in the room. Usually in small venues it's just standing room only. Prior to the show you can order food and drinks (they have a pretty big menu). You can pretty much have a complete dinner. Not sure if they have coffee/tea though. I did not eat there as I had eaten somewhere else prior. And I had no idea they even offer food there. When the show starts you remain where you are. You basically sit at your seat at the table the entire concert, which for me is weird. And you only stand when the artist has everyone stand up for a particular song. But since David did an acoustic concert having the tables there seemed fitting and made for a more intimate feel. I have never been to venues like that. Didn't even know they existed or that people do concerts this way. This was certainly a different and interesting experience. I think I'd go to a concert at a venue like this again. Have you ever been to concerts where you sit at tables throughout the entire show?

I have been to a few concerts like that. I guess it would depend what the band is.

I'd go to a place like this again but only if someone I wanted to see played there. I don't think I'd go there to see an unknown band just for the experience of sitting at a table while listening to a singer/band perform...

Only at bars. David Cook I think just hasn't garnered the success others from American Idol has, so this type of venue suits him. But he is very talented and I am glad to see he is still pursuing his dream.

I have always wondered why he does small venues as opposed to big arenas. Maybe they can't afford it... Or maybe he is the type of artist who prefers small venues.

@lovebuglena I just don't think he can draw larger audiences. But there is a place for everyone, and I am glad he has an audience that appreciates what he does even if he is not a superstar.

I remember watching American Idol and seeing David Cook. I haven't heard of him since. What is your favorite song by David?

I have only been to concert arenas except once sitting at a table at the Roxy in Hollywood.
