We spent the entire day yesterday in New York City, mainly to see our grandkids, since they are unable to visit us for dinner on Friday.
Our grandson has an early morning hockey game in Pennsylvania. They have to stay at a hotel there on Friday night, so he can be alert as goalie early in the morning on Saturday.
While in NYC, we saw our grandon’s last test and our Ice Princess’s report card. We are extremely proud of those two little bright kids.
Our granddaughter has completely recovered from her adenovirus and pneumonia. She spent a full week in school, returned to ballet (bar practice), and ice skating! She told me that I e skating excited her the most. Another child has died from that horrible adenovirus. Her doctor reported that what saved our precious princess’s life was her ice skating. Her lungs were very strong and healthy!
We went to a bookstore and bought the kids 4 new books each. Our granddaughter read and completed one on the ride to dinner. They are both voracious readers.
The night ended with dinner at Landmarc at the Time Warner Center. What a happy and special day we had.
~Photo is my worst ever of the George Washington Bridge. We made it home in 1 hour and 22 minutes!~

@DianneN - I took books to my grandkids, too, when I went to see them. Glad you got to see your grandchildren one more time before going to Florida!

@DeborahDiane that would be the most well loved gift for my daughter and I to receive. We always have a book with us wherever we go.

You are such awesome grandparents! I'm glad the Ice Princess is completely better - how scary! It goes to show how important physical fitness is - even for kids! That's great both are doing so well with school and their sports - they're so active and happy .

This is the reason why I continue to run, to build my strong immunity against diseases.

@DianneN I bet you were relieved after hearing what happened to the other kid who had the same condition. Sending a prayer for her health and happiness.
LOL you tried it trough the window of a speeding car???.. its actually very good in that case.. I don't think many people could have got this good a picture considering the given conditions.

Thanks and we are so relieved. We always enjoy being with our family and have lots of fun together, and even lots of giggles and laughs.
You should have seen the photos I had to delete. It is never a good idea to take them through a car window, too, especially when the car is speeding towards home.

Glad you enjoyed your time with the grandkids.
Egads I saw people stranded on the GW bridge for hours with that snow storm. Glad you made it home safely

@DianneN that storm hit us unexpectedly and really caused a lot of problems. I would have been panicked if a 30 min ride took 5 hours but I'm sure your DIL was happy to get home

@Marilynda1225 She certainly was. She missed a parent teacher meeting with my granddaughter's teacher. At least my son was there.

@DianneN Does she skate in NYC, or in surrounding areas?

@moffittjc Her lessons are in New Jersey, about 30 minutes away. She practices there 7 days a week and in NY at Chelsea Piers before school.. Her competitions are all over the place now. Our grandson plays hockey and is all over the place now, too. I feel bad for their parents.

Interesting night view of the bridge.
I'm so glad your Ice Princess is back on the ice, and even happier to hear it was her ice skating that helped cure the adenovirus and pneumonia. That is great news.
Best of luck to your grandson on Saturday.

You must be a proud grandmother.
I totally agree that sports and physical activity do make our lungs strong and give us a powerful immunity.
I am glad that your granddaughter is fit and fine and back to her love for ice skating.
