Heading Into December

I seriously don't like November as it is the first really dark month and it tends to be damp and cold. This year there is not much snow but many grey and overcast days so this adds to the gloominess. I do start to plan for Christmas this month so that's a little pick-me-up! At least in December I can think about Christmas presents and Christmas cooking for my family even though it too is a dark month- it's way more fun! Daylight Savings Time has made things darker. We really haven't had a significant snowfall yet and I find myself actually looking forward to that to liven things up a bit. I've already started some Christmas preparation and even a few gifts and am heading into December in a bette mood. How about you? Are you getting ready or just kind of cruising through? I do not like November, I am happy to see December coming, but I am not over excited, I am just cruising through.

Yes me too for some reason this year. Think I'm getting older and I've been there too many times before -- lol!

Weather wise - November-December-January - it's pretty much the same throughout here. I would love damp/cold/gray, but those kinds of days are rare, far and few (although we got some showers the other night). Thanksgiving is off the checklist . . . but I want to take a break before thinking about December holidays - I know I can't be holiday free for too long.

@MarymargII This early morning we got some thick fog - it was amazing (it's rare here). The grayness motivates me, but gosh darnit that sun came up. Yes, good to plan . . . I think I will get to that this weekend as December begins. Best of luck to you!

I know- it is close for you guys in the U.S. But it does creep up on you. So I'm planning at least and then I'm going for it.

November is one of my favorite months. December is my favorite month. I have some decorations up all year. I'll get more up as the days get closer to Christmas.

I'm just cruising through at the moment. Hopefully I'll get more excited about it soon.

In my days, rain fell, and there was snow. I still do not prepare for New Year's holidays, because there is more time.
