When It Is Not Of Interest To You

This morning , my other staff and I , helped my staff who is so eager to decorate our department for the CandyLand theme, this morning. I asked him what can I do to help and he instructed me how to make a candylike thing and wrap it like a candy. I followed his instruction but after I have done 6 of those big candylike things, my head ached. Please see the picture if they really are candylike already. I stopped and my officemate said, when you do something out of compliance or obligation but not out of your interest or passion, you will really get a headache or you become so tired after that. Thus, this afternoon, I went out with the purchaser and I bought different real lollipops and marshmallows for them to decorate , hanging, on all over the ceiling of our department. At least, I have done my share of decorations even if I have spent a sum of money. My head didn’t ache anymore. Have you ever experienced doing a thing which is out of obligation but not your cup of tea or passion? What did you feel after doing it?

Problem solved, Ms. LT :) Very smart! Or you could have requested Miss Arbie to help you with the decoration because she's artistic :)

@SIMPLYD I'm sure you'd be seating pretty if Miss Arbie was one of your staff because she's industrious too aside from being smart and talented.

That is true. In my case, my head ached after seeing the finished products of what I have done. Are they candylike to you? I attached the picture now, even if they aren't worth seeing.

I bought every single tree decoration online There were baby santas, gift boxes, hockey sticks, balls, candies, snowflakes, ice balls, streamers, lights. We even had a game to count the number of the items on the tree

It is so nice indeed if one has a budget for the decorations. But we were told to just use any scrap materials or recycle previous decorations. And that is not really my cup of tea because I don't even have a single streak of artistry.

I never offer to do what i dislike.. especially if it gives me a headache.. I already suffer from severe headaches so why add to them. Glad you found a way of working through them.

I had to do something, to stop myself from that stress. So, I bought the real lollipops. Sometimes, there are obligations that we cannot avoid to do, much as we don't like it.

A lot of times you really are force to do things that you are not interested in. You just join so that you would not be tagged as not helping with them. What can we do if its a required job then we just have to comply and obey with them. Although in my case I do not have the headache sometimes you just do not feel the work or assignment given to you and the end results are not really that good.

I have proven that the headache wasn't physically related but it's mental. That's because even if i have eaten lunch already and drank a very cold drink, the headache still persisted. So, I have to rub my temples with white flower and too a nap at lunchtime. Somehow, I felt better after that. So, I decided to use my money and bought real candies as decorations so I won't be stressed making those in the picture.
