There are 84 steps to the stairway before you reach the top of this UNESCO World Heritage site in my place, the Santa Maria church. Just good enough for a morning exercise.
I didn't count how many times I went up and down but I'm sure it goes for one hour. One way alone is tiring already. How much more you do it more than 10 times.
Its an exercise good for cardio so my lungs will become bigger and wider. Good also for my muscles in my feet. And of course my endurance and stamina will be better.
Aside from me there are other people climbing and goung down the stairs. Adult and children alike. And because its Sunday there are many people climbing to attend the mass.
Don't worry old folks there is another way, at the back corner, to drive through with your vehicle in case you can't climb this path.
The church actually situated at the top of the hill during the Spanish regime and the brick wall just make this church special.

I remember one I walked through at Coron Palawan where it had several hundreds steps to go on top of a hill overlooking the island. The first few hundreds were fine but after reaching midpoint I already felt dizzy and nauseous. When I reached the peak I felt like fainting already.

@ilocosboy yeah one good thing in Baguio its cold there so it’s not so tiring. The one in coron was very hot and humid that’s why it was very tiring.

Good for you to do that. Keep up the exercise. Watch your heart though. I need to do some exercise as well. Maybe I will start walking to local parks with body weight contra. They are placed in some parks around.

I hope they will not reconstruct it like they did to other churches.

when i did not have the heart ailment, i was even a competitor for ''running'', as what we often say during Intramurals. i could run fast. when i knew i had the heart disease, i started limiting my exercises and controlled my urge to run.
