Weekends over and it’s a great start to a new week

Saturday I mostly just cleaned and at the end of the night I used my Amazon Prime account to watch the movie “Temple Grandin” which was awesome. She has a more severe form of autism then my son does but she made it so far in life with her amazing mind that it makes me feel very hopeful. Best part of that day was I received a $10 Amazon e-gift card from Global Test Market. Yesterday my boyfriend and his son came over to put the new bumper on my van. My dad came over to help and it was no time at all until it was done. For dessert I made “Cuppa Cuppa Cuppa” which you can see in the photo. It’s a recipe I saw when watching the movie “Steel Magnolias”. My daughter spent the past two weekends putting together all her old LEGO sets to see which ones have missing pieces. She wanted me to list them for sale on the local Facebook groups. One was $40 or $80 originally but nothing used will sell that high so I listed it for $5. Within minutes of listing them for sale one lady wants to buy 4 of the girls sets which is a total of $15. Another woman wants the boys sets which is 6 of them for $5.50 and my sister is buying one small set for 50 cents. They are all people I know so they are coming to my house today to pick them up. My daughter is so happy and wrote them a thank you card inside their bag of items. Since I have a driveable van now I am giddy to get out of this house. My son said my hair was frizzy so I used Arvazallia Argan hair mask which I got a free sample of a long time back. I have to go to the bank and to the doctors today for a refill on my medicines. After my boyfriends son is done with Archery practice he will be coming here for his dad to pick him up. I thawed out some hamburgers to cook the boys for dinner.

@DianneN When we do yard sales I always stock up on change but I didn’t even think about it with this I just assumed people would get change themselves before coming.

@DianneN everyone who said they were coming to pick them up at a certain time did so that was excellent. The one girl gave me a $10 though and I only had $2 and a bunch of change. I borrowed $1 off my daughter and then gave her $1.50 in coins. We chatted about our dogs while I got that money rounded up.

@shaggin I'm truly happy it all worked out for you. Geez, you need to be a banker when dealing with cash.

@amadeo we didn't have archery when I was in school. Now they have archery and soccer. I would have loved to play soccer when I was a teen! I petitioned to get a team started but it was hard to get it going it was kind of like okay we have our 200 signatures what do we do now.

Sounds like you had a bust weekend last week. That dessert looks good and what do you think of the Argan? I've heard it is really good to control friz, that is a problem I have.

@Carmelanirel2 I have used shampoos and conditioners with it in it seemed to leave my hair a little greasy though. The problem with my hair right now is I wore it back in a little elastic band all summer and it broke the hairs so bad that all those broken hairs are curled up and frizzy around my head. Lesson learned I will not do that again!

Your dessert looks delicious. I am sure the boys enjoyed the hamburgers you made for them. How is the eye of your boyfriend now?

That's great you were able to sell the Lego sets. It's good to have a working car. Have a good day and I hope the doctor's visit is good.

I never check for movies on Prime. I should. I would have liked that. Yes, be hopeful for your son. I have worked with a variety of children and adults who have autism and they are all so individual.

@GardenGerty he is on the far lowest end of the spectrum so I think he will do well in life. The older he gets the better he is able to handle things. I only have Amazon Prime a few times a year and this was the first time I watched a movie on it.

It sounds like you had a lovey weekend when you were quite busy. I am glad your van is now drivable again. I was in a terrible traffic jam this morning. My 15 minute usual drive took one hour and 20 minutes. I had to take my daughter to an appointment on a train. Today there has been much rain and the temperature was warmer than a usual December day. Yes, it was around 10 degrees C.

@maximax8 I didn't feel very busy over the weekend but this week will be busy. I am sorry you got stuck in a traffic jam that is so frustrating especially when it was over an hour longer then your usual traveling time. I am going to be leaving really early for my dentist appointment tomorrow in case of any jams.

I thought it was peach pie with ice cream. Sadly I think you sold those lego set way too cheap. My sister sold one of my nephew's old sets on ebay for nearly 1,000 dollars.

@snowy22315 peach pie with ice cream would have been much yummier I think. This was odd and really thick and sticky. That is amazing your sister got so much for the Lego set. These went in the original boxes and most had one missing piece. I tried to sell the whole batch together over a year ago for $40 and no one bought it. Breaking it all up we got $21 plus still have a tub of random pieces to sell. One girl yesterday gave my daughter an extra $5 for all the work she did putting them together I thought it was very nice!

It's good that you now have a drivable vehicle. They are almost an essential now, aren't they?

@JohnRoberts yes it was a good weekend and I am feeling so blessed right now to be able to get out and do the things I need. Being without a car wasn't too bad since I was able to borrow my mom's to make a huge stock up trip. I could have went longer without it another week or more but my daughter wants to go shopping to buy Christmas for her friends so I look forward to doing that with here.

@responsiveme both my kids loved them when they were young and my son especially played with them often. He still does. I and then but my daughter who is 14 hasn't played with them in many years so they have been sitting around collecting dust.
