Darn, I forgot the name of this. When we went to Casa San Pablo, the owner mentioned the name of this. I didn't write it in my notebook. My goodness. Actually this is not a flower. The flower of the coconut can be found in the tree before the fruits grow larger. This one that is located inside the shell, between the flesh will grow as the sprout comes out. As the sprout grows bigger, the bigger it will it will become. Yes sirs and ma'ams, this is edible. And taste smooth and nice. Taste like its water. Coconut really a wonderful tree.

Its not smooth its got a nice texture and taste to it, not as hard as the coconut flesh , but its kind of light and airy.

@ilocosboy Well the homemade sweet that I am talking about is made up of butter, coconut shred, sugar, etc. The sweet is also many times rolled into a small circular shaped sweets, so that it becomes easy to consume and digest.

You will be surprised to know, this particular part is very nutritious indeed. It has many health benefits. Naturally it should be because it has to become a tree.

It's called " buwa" in Tagalog or "bula" or " buha" in the Western Visayan dialects, that delicious soft spongy mass is the coconut embryo or cotyledon. It's called coconut apple in English. I ate a lot of that because my mother's family has a small coconut plantation down South. The only problem is if you eat that you won't be able to plant a new coconut tree lol!
