My temp job is over. Have to figure out what to do next.

My temporary job helping out at the sample sale is over. On one hand, I am glad it's over because no more carrying heavy boxes, lots of bending down, and working under the hot ceiling lights. And I don't have to get up at 6 am. On the other hand, that means no more income and being stuck at home all alone. Have to figure out what to do next... Can't keep spending money without any legit income coming in or my savings will run out faster that I want them to. Not that I made a lot at this same sale thing but it will help pay the credit card bill. And sitting home all the time is not good either for various reasons. If only I knew what to do for a living. It would make it easier to search for a job and find one... hopefully something permanent.

Girl, you are ripe for something I wrote about here not so long ago. NEVER rely on a paycheck. Never. Either way, I hope you find a way to work through your current situation...but do take heed.
Never, ever, EVER rely on simply a paycheck to pay your way through life. If you do this, you will surely wind up at the end of the road broke. It's not a...

What do you mean by "NEVER rely on a paycheck"?

@porwest That is very true. Living paycheck to paycheck is not good if you end up losing your job.

@lovebuglena Basically if you only ever rely on a paycheck, you will always need to get another one. If you live frugally, save your money from earnings, eventually you always have money in the bank or in investments that earn dividends, and those dividends can begin to replace income you have to go out and work for. Even if a paycheck stops in the short term, you can rely on money you have already made and saved, and the money those savings earn to fill the gap. If you ARE working and earning a paycheck, some of that saved money and the money it earns is gravy. People who live paycheck to paycheck are in a real pickle if they lose their jobs, whereas people who do not are just fine if they lose their job.

Hello! Best of luck to ya at finding a new job I know it can be very difficult. If you can't find anything after looking really hard try to consider what you're good at and start your own business. While still looking for a constant income because you will always need it.

I help authors publish books (through Lulu). I basically publish the books for them. If I could get regular clients for that it would be a nice income, especially not having a "real" job. It won't make me rich but it would bring me more than I am making now, which is pretty much nothing.

@lovebuglena I know how you feel it never seems like you can make enough money with the mounting bills. Are you interested in writing? There are writing from home jobs and other jobs. The thing is it is very difficult to land a job work at home job that pays the bills. I really hope you get a job soon.

@fransmonlot I love to write and I am an author. But for me being an author doesn't bring me enough money to live on. It's just extra side income. Having a work-from-home job has its pluses and minuses. Aside from the low pay, you are stuck at home alone, and that can be very bad for a person. Working in a company, you are surrounded by people. Though you may still be cooped up in your cubicle alone for a long time.

This was a three week thing and it wasn't even every day that I worked. I definitely need to find a real job and one that is permanent.
