Weird Word Wednesday- Tyro

I've known several synonyms for "beginner", for most of my life. I think most of us have heard "novice", "amateur", "newby", etc. However, "tyro" is new to me.
Recently, I was lacking confidence and motivation in my freelance writing work. Then I was encouraged by a quote I saw- "A professional writer is an amateur who didn't quit."
The quote reminded me that I have a way to go, and in some ways I'm still a tyro. But I also stopped to consider how much I've improved since I started!
I will continue to grow and learn. Mistakes and rejections are part of the learning process!
Have you heard the word tyro? Also, what are your thoughts/experiences about being a beginner in something?

Hi @KOLAMsegaran1. Sure I can. "Tyro" is an uncommon word meaning "a beginner".
I'm a writer and I think words are interesting. I like learning and sharing new/unusual words.
