I Actually Cooked Dinner!

Don’t laugh! I have cooked my entire life, but now only cook when we have guests. My husband and I love going out and trying new restaurants, especially those that have live music. If not that, my husband orders dinner from restaurants and either picks them up or has them delivered right to our door. Sometimes he actually cooks and is getting to be quite the sous chef! Well, I decided to make short ribs and fresh steamed asparagus. Everything was delicious and compliments were sent to the chef! . I even got a few kisses and a huge hug. I may cook more often. What have you eaten for dinner? ~A better photo of Orville the osprey who chirpped all day long and flew by to say hello ~

That sounds good! My husband usually does the cooking here but I do now and then when he doesn't want to or when I have a special meal in mind. :)

It was delicious. I never made it before, so I looked up online recipes and then did my own thing. Our husbands are keepers. We are blessed!

I wouldn't be surprised if Orville actually does know you and waits on your return, I've heard raptors are very intelligent Now there's an idea ..... you know it could lead to a shopping trip

I didn’t know that, but he sure seems so. He flew to my window, but I couldn’t grab the camera in time. He’s unbelievable! Have you had dinner, yet?

I have no doubt the chef did a great job on the meal . I know you can cook - but hey, life is sure a lot easier when you can eat out! We haven't had dinner yet . . . but it's a toss up between Thai glass noodle soup or taco salad! Orville !

@DianneN A good meal is always worth the effort to cook it . The good thing is both dishes are super easy and somewhat fast to make. I'm just super tired right now to get up and cook - I am having fun catching up on myLot .

@DianneN @LadyDuck @GardenGerty Fresh asparagus in December? I wonder where it has come from. As far as I know asparagus isn't grown in greenhouses.

I just enjoy cooking. I don't mind eating out. But it is just too expensive, and frankly, I find my food to be better. I am biased of course. But who am I to knock it? If that is what you enjoy and it is not breaking the bank, and you have the health to be able to eat what is mostly unhealthy food out...go for it. Short ribs and asparagus DOES sound FANTASTIC though.

@porwest I’ll be on the lookout. I know I ask for grilled with no butter, don’t eat fried food, and have dressing on the side. I’m not a fanatic, but do enjoy eating where there are white tablecloths, live music, and a martinis!

Lol! We eat at healthy type restaurants and usually, not always, order fresh fish, not frozen. That’s what helps us stay healthy. Not to knock what you said, but, we dine at fine restaurants. No fast food for us unless it’s from a great pizza restaurant or Five Guys. Tonight we’re having soup and rushing out to a concert.

@DianneN I think you would be surprised if you looked at the nutritional values a lot of this 'fine dining' is just as unhealthy. I looked at a few places and was blown away at how much these fine establishments were just as unhealthy as fast food. I have been doing quite a lot of research since my salt restriction and the data floors me.
