No more asking "whodunnit," because my countdown of favorite songs by The Who ends today. What a terrific band! I've really enjoyed this. It should come as no surprise that this song tops my list of favorite Who songs. #1: Behind Blue Eyes If you listen to "classic rock" a lot, you're probably thinking, "How can you stand to hear that song?" Well, I don't listen to classic rock, so this song only plays once every 1,100 songs (in my "favorites" playlist), not once every 1,100 seconds. What an amazing song. A "power ballad" before the term existed, with a ton of great lyrics (major highlight: "my dreams, they aren't as empty as my conscience seems to be"), "Behind Blue Eyes" is one of those songs that deserves its legendary status.
