East, West home is best

That is how I felt when I was on that US tour a long time ago. I was out for 55 days. No doubt I got that out of the world kind of experience visiting all what I had dreamt about but despite all that I was just wanting to get back. East, West,. home is best. And when I got back there was such a great welcome specially from my dogs all three of them wagging their tails with such speed. When was it that you felt this way?

Half the fun of travel is the anticipation. The other half is sleeping in your own bed. There’s no place like home, but there’s nothing that compares to seeing our big, beautiful world.

After 20+ years in Latvia I felt that way returning to the states at the end of June this year and as the plane was heading to the airport and I had left Europe behind I heard the words of the song City of New Orleans - good morning America how are you and I was all choked up returning to my homeland. Love the photo of your dogs.

Staying away from pets is not easy but they were well taken care of and when they saw me I cannot explain what their reaction was. These pets are no more but they lived right into their old age.

We travel a lot mostly in our surrounding states. We always drive so it's usually those last few hours on the road where i just can't wait to be home.

When you are engrossed seeing new things meeting friends and family one does not feel the loss but as the days get closer that is the time one feels homesick.

I do remember taking vacations with my late parents from Panama to the U S for a period of around 30 days to visit my relatives from my late dad's side of the family. The return home from the U S was great to be home once again and get ready for school the next day until 1978.

@allknowing see that shows they really missed you alot....if I go away from home for only 3days our dog doesn't even seem to remember me... I guess he just doesn't like me.
