scalded middle FINGER

my finger

I stood up of bed at 7am. The big dog of our neighbor caused us to have interrupted sleep last night. So this morning I woke up late. I did 4 sunny side up for me, my 2 older siblings, and my son. I was so engrossed with making a perfect sunny side up, so close to the frying pan that I cracked open the egg, that some hot oil splashed on my left middle finger. As soon as the egg was frying, I immediately put my left hand under running water from the faucet. And here is my finger---the scalding was halted. Although I feel pain, it is just at 3/10 painscale. Do you burn your finger when you fry an egg?

indeed, even accidental cutting when slicing onions or tomatoes. also , even using the peeler on cucumber, sometimes my hand is 'peeled' accidentally.

It's not a bad burn, it will heal soon. I do not burn my finger when I fry eggs, I risk more when I use the oven.

I have been splashed by oil when frying eggs or something else. Never liked that and always an unpleasant surprise. Hope your finger feels much better soon.
You can treat most first-degree and second-degree burns at home by running cool water over the area for 20 minutes. You can also relieve pain with cool compresses and use other home burn remedies to help heal the skin and prevent infection. These things ca

yes. but it is not nice to fry something when the oil has not yet boiled. there are posts on Fb too about how boys/men fry something. they use many protective gear so they won't be splashed with hot oil.

@ridingbet I think that would be fine. Did you try to use a toothpaste on it?

@Shavkat no. Although the toothpaste has some cooling effect on scalds and first degree burns I just relied on running cold tap water.

@ridingbet I try to make them perfect too. I guess it's to make the plate look nice before everyone starts gulping it down.
