Saturday Greetings and Some Good Conversation

Happy Saturday Everyone! It's a dismal day here in my little corner of the myLot world. We had rain overnight and it's supposed to rain on and off throughout the weekend. So much better than snow especially when so many are running around getting ready for Christmas.
My daughter is going to a Christmas friends party tonight and will sleep over. I'm happy when she doesn't drive home in the middle of the night and I can go to bed knowing she's coming home in the morning.
I spent a good portion of the morning doing some house chores and paying bills. I hate paying bills every month but this month always seems worse.
I'm making good headway on my Christmas wrapping. Thankfully all the shopping is done unless I realize I need a gift for someone I forgot (gee I hope not).
My next thing is to finish my list for the Christmas dinner menu and then shop for it all. I'm always looking for something different when making a menu but either it all takes too much work or not everyone would eat it. So, we'll stick to the traditional ham and sides.
Tomorrow is our cookie baking party. I'm looking forward to our cookie baking and next year my granddaughter will be off to college so who knows if she'll be around to do our yearly baking.
Anyway, nothing much else is new here. Just feel like some days I'm burning the candle at both ends.

Just my art, I like to paint and I like to work in my art journals. I do need to finish my shopping though. Perhaps tomorrow I will get out.,

Well, I bought the kitchenaid mixer. Not sure if that constitutes fun, but I know why it was so cheap. It is an older model probably from the 70's and weighs a ton. Oh well..it might come in handy anyway. I am sure it is still functional.

I don't think anything fun is happening here this weekend, it's okay though. I'm grateful for everything God has given us.

Although dismal is the perfect word for the weather here today, we were able to have a nice day. It is amazing that this year is almost over. How did that happen?

We've had a busy weekend so far.
Saturday I was up and out the door early, I had my hair appointment.
It takes a couple of hours, and I still find it difficult to sit up in the chair for that long as my neck and back usually ache before I'm done.
We drove to our son's place yesterday and then on to the hall for my husband's side of the family Christmas party.
We had a lot of fun.
We spent the night at our son's place, it is over an hour's drive, and I wasn't up to it. We came home this morning (Sunday) and even now I need a lie down to get my neck and back feeling better again.

Cookie baking with family sounds like fun. And I hope it's extra fun and special, with the not knowing about your granddaughter for next year.
Christmas is just mom and I, so we're just going to have lasagna for dinner, like we have the last 2 years when my brother and uncle were here for it. Though I could go for a roast beef. But those are so expensive even when on sale
