Good morning on a Monday, my fellow users of this site. I will be alone later because my sister has her errands in the city and she will also visit our brother who is confined in the hospital. He hopes to be discharged tomorrow and he and his 2nd daughter with her husband are booked for the Wednesday flight, which gave me and my sister sighs of relief as to who will accompany our brother if he will be alone.
But for now I am comfortably seated in front of the television because it is Miss Universe 2018 pageant at this very hour. Our bet is one of the 20 semifinalists.
I hope Catriona Gray wins our 4th crown.
Who is your bet?

yes that is true, but sometimes watching shows like these can ignite patriotism among us because some Filipinos live outside our country and in events like these Filipinos are united.
my own opinion.

@marguicha have you watched it on YouTube, even when she apologized? others say the apology was cynical too.

I donĀ“t want Miss USA to win. She does not represent the nice US people.

@marguicha There are many hearsay about her and some more other English speaking candidates who mocks candidates who cannot speak English.

@rakski Miss USA was only in the wild card semifinals then she was dropped off like a hot potato later.

i agree. she has a video of racism with 2 other women, to Asian competitors. Miss USA is not on the top 10 finalists but the one of the Asians that she 'bullied' online who does not speak English is one of the 10.

it is because maybe Pinoys find it good that a Pinay gives hope to the whole world to us, who is a country of corruption and greed, but this is my own opinion.

@ridingbet And we won!
I guess it is our way to make us forget our difficulties once in a while.
We need something to boost national pride and this is a good start but it has to be deeper.

@Beatburn right on that, i agree with you. the winning of Catriona Gray somehow lifted our spirits.
.... and then came the bullying of a small boy to taller kids, the killing of personalities by riding-in-tandem people, and other problems that seemed to halt last Monday, are back to be reinvigorated today.

i watched another beauty pageant on Fox Life channel and i did not like it. the ladies, i believe, had little time to prepare and the event was not well-prepared. they did not even know where to stand, and their dance numbers were not in synchronization.

@aureliah ANTM of Tyra Banks? i like that. i watch that from beginning to the final. the previous winner is great, and i did not like the runner-up, the bald petite woman--she was so proud and felt the better model than the winner.

no, only the pictures the 4 of them look every inch Miss Universe in their own time. Margarita Moran and Gloria Diaz though have the thin pair of eyebrows yet but they exude radiance.
