2:54 minutes sleep

Checking on my Fitbit app this morning, I found out that I only had 2 hours and 54 minutes sleep last night. I had a very long day yesterday starting off with a meeting with the Project Manager of our hotel construction. He invited me and a co-member in the Technical Working Group who is a civil engineer to discuss technical issues with our ongoing construction. Venue of the meeting was at a hospital our General Contractor is building and we met at 3PM. The meeting took a long time as we were toured around the hospital after the meeting so, instead of finishing before 5PM, we ended up leaving the site at almost 6 and because of the rush hour traffic, we arrived at our cooperative's office at past 6 which was over an hour late for our 5PM meeting with the architect for our other project at another city in another province. The delay had a domino-effect as the meeting after with the installers of the fire sprinkler system in our main building was held later after that. At 6PM, we were again supposed to have our monthly coordination meeting with the general contractors of the hotel which was also pushed back to 8PM after dinner. Because of the many concerns in the ongoing hotel construction, we ended our meeting at 12 midnight. I arrived home at almost 1AM and woke up at 3:30 AM for the day of the Christmas "aguinaldo" mass at 5. My wife and I had to be in church early because at 4:15, the church is already full of churchgoers. Are you having little time for sleep too with all the parties during this Christmas season?

No. I was planning to take some after arriving from church but I had to do the laundry after breakfast and go to the bank to withdraw the amount sent by my daughter for the seminary. She leaves it up to me to divide it to the diocesan seminary and to the Redemptorists. I also had to go to the cooperative office. I'll try to catch up with sleep tonight. The problem is that it's Game 6 of the PBA finals at 7PM :)

@sol_cee I'm sure you're excited with your Christmas vacation but the kids are more excited to see their mom and the "pasalubongs" :)

Take care. More sleep ensures you are not going to faint or have blood pressure issues.

Yes, I think I will be able to catch up starting tonight :) I won't need to wake up early tomorrow. The problem would be if my body clock has already been used to waking up early LOL!

@jobelbojel My wife is preparing food for tomorrow's lunch at her mother's house. In the afternoon, we will be going to my home city 45 kilometers away and we'll be bringing some food too though my sisters will also be preparing food for our coming.

Good to know you get a full amount of sleep. Sleep indeed is a time for the body to recharge and be ready for the next day's activities.

Yes, I understand that you do not celebrate Christmas as only Christians (especially Catholics) celebrate it.

@KOLAMsegaran1 Thanks - in the same way that we Christians also respect the "ramadan" days of Muslims and all other observances of other religions for that matter.

Oh I guess you need to have a lot to catch up on your sleep. If that only happens once in a while then that's fine I guess but if its often then it will take a toll on your health which is dangerous.

@sunrisefan If you could make it to 6 or 7 then that should be the normal sleep where your body can recover from the stresses of the day.

@rsa101 Before the holidays, I usually sleep 6 hours on the average. I sleep between 8:30 and 9:30 and wake up at 3:30 or 4AM for our morning walk at the ovals. On weekends, I sometimes sleep as late as 11PM because of some TV shows or the PBA (just like Game 6 tonight LOL!).

Oh, look how busy you are. You are retired yet you are so busy with work concerns. that is good because they actually activates your brain which is good so your brain will remain healthy always. Though, slow down please. Maybe you should already take off from yourself some concerns.

Not tonight :) Only after Christmas as we will still be attending a dawn mass and also a Christmas eve mass in the evening.

Just sleep whenever you have time! I could not attend the Misa de Gallo or dawn mass, but I attended a Simbang Gabi or Night Mass in one of the churches here.

@sunrisefan Nah. I'd rather not sleep at all if it only will take 2 hours. It will give me a headache the entire day.

I think that adequate sleep is the best, and a good time to sleep is 5 to 7 hours,   if you sleep too much, or lack of sleep is not good

Yes, you're right. 5 to 7 hours would be good enough and oversleeping would not be good too.

how do you stay alert, engaged and remember stuff during all those meetings? when people lack sleep, sometimes they become forgetful or clumsy/accident-prone, so hope you take care and catch up on your sleep soon.

Thanks. I was really very at past 10 in last night's meeting. Coordination meetings during the construction of big branch office several years ago when I was TWG chairman was even longer as we would finish at 1 or 2AM. I'm sure our coordination meetings for the hotel project will extend to longer hours as the construction progresses because there will surely be concerns that would crop up which would need long deliberation. I will try to catch up with sleep though but I guess that would be possible after Christmas.
