John @indexer invited us to join a new challenge. Write a piece to be no longer than 150 words (it can be shorter, and the first words to be - "I hereby resolve …" Resolutions are not my thing. I know that they fade as soon as the first problems of the year shows up. No matter how much we would like to do something, there are events that oblige us give up. Anyway, this is my participation to the challenge (there are no prizes). "I hereby resolve: to stop stressing and be happy. I am a "worrier", it will not be easy, but it's time to enjoy every day and its best. Where is the purpose to stay awake thinking to everything that could go wrong? We cannot change the course of life. So stop worrying, let's see what tomorrow will bring and then let's decide what to do." This is my resolution, I will do my best to stick on it. Will you join the challenge?

No, I don’t do challenges, nor do I make resolutions. I do make short term goals and am satisfied when reaching them. Then on to the next! Good luck trying to stop worrying.

I know I cannot stop worrying, it's part of my nature. I never make resolutions either.

@LadyDuck . I am a natural born worrier and that has been handed down from generations of women. I can’t fight it.

Your discussion reminded me a quote by Corrie Ten Boom - "Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow. It empties today of its strength". I think it is true, but I still tend to worry too much. That is something that I would like to change.

@LadyDuck I am the same the way. I worry about a lot of unnecessary things. One of my friend is an inspiration to me. He doesn't worry in advance and he takes things as they come.

It was hard to decide what to write exactly because I never make resolutions. I know that I must stop worrying about everything. It's not really a resolution, it's something I must do to live a better life.

@LadyDuck I feel that that is a better way of saying resolution. Resolutions seem to be something that our ancestors made. Today we think differently and put a shorter term on it.

@Juliaacv I do not know if my ancestors made resolutions, for sure not my parents and grandparents. I had some friends who did.

I never made resolutions, not even when I was young. I know that I should take decisions and I will, but decisions are something I can manage, resolutions are forgotten even before the year starts.

It is said that being negative within ourselves is easier than being positive. So being able to overcome our weaknesses is truly a sign of our improvement as a person. I hope that you will be able to materialize it Anna! We are on the same boat with this one.
