Some people need to finally grow up

They live at home with their parents, pay no rent, they have no job, earn no money. . . they DO NOTHING. It is amazing that so many members of the "Millenial" generation are now doing this. It is even more SHOCKING that their parents are entertaining this garbage. My parents would NEVER have put up with this GARBAGE which is probably why I never was someone who was living in my parents house at the age of 30. (Catch a clue parents!) Work hard. Put the hours in. Earn your time off. It isn't so hard, right?

My mother started charging me rent at the age of 24 as soon as I graduated from college and even before I got a job!

@NJChicaa I got married (and away from home) at 18. I had my children and went to college while married.

@NJChicaa so how were you able to pay rent if you didn't have a job yet?

I moved out when I was 16 year old, been on my own since. As much as I loved my dad I love having my freedom. I dont see how these people will make it when their parents die.

Our boys were both told, in no uncertain terms, that once they graduated high school, they had three options. Option 1 - go to college/trade school and earn a degree/certification in whatever they wanted and we would support them while they did, as long as they could show us a career path associated with the degree they sought. Option 2 - go to work and pay fair market rent for their room, their share of the utilities, and buy their own food, or find their own place. Option 3 - Enlist in the military. Knowing our expectations, both rose to not only meet them but exceed them.

I think some of the parents are to blame as well, as they were helicopter parents to their kids growing up, hovering over everything they did and controlling every aspect of their lives. Now these poor millennials have no clue how to do anything on their own. Also, they have tons of student debt from college and can't find any jobs following graduation. But overall, I agree with you, these millennial need to get off their butts and start doing something about their pathetic situations. Even if it means flipping burgers at McDonalds as a start.

My idea is that most millenials are IT graduates and want to have a start up and work from. It is just my stereotyping though. Mostly they blog to travel the world and stuff like that.

The problem is that some people either do not want to or do not know the time to grow up.

very sad. Once you are past 18, it is time to earn your living I think.

@NJChicaa This is an age that can be used as a standard, but I do not believe it works because of cultural diferences around the world.

I don’t think this issue is an exclusive one of millennials.

Rightly said.. everyone need to put up efforts for earning bread rather than to impose their selves on innocent parents.

I can't figure out what are they thinking? Do they expect the government to pick up after their parents are gone? If no one works, then where will there be money?
