Do you talk to yourself?

Self talk is that chatter that goes on in your head , it could be positive or negative. Positive self talk helps us to achieve more, push further and not give up easily. When you have positive self talk going on you don't need to depend heavily on your social support system. You could be a one man/woman army.
Negative self talk on the other hand makes you feel like a failure, a worthless person. Its like a voice in your head telling you all the time that you cannot do anything good.
I personally keep telling myself I can do more, I can do better, I can work longer. I can do things faster. This has brought me a long way from where I started especially when I was going through a period of failures and self doubts.
What kind of talk goes on in your head? How does it affect you?

I both talk and argue with myself. It just gives me confidence and I have someone to reason with when things seem not to go right.

@RasmaSandra That is the way to go.. Not to let those thoughts in your head dominate and take over your life.

Most of the time I try to keep positive talk going. When negative thoughts appear, I use positive talk to counter-attack so that the positive side wins the argument.

@sofssu I checked the scripture. Are you sure it's the correct one for this discussion?

@1hopefulman The war is in the mind waged by negative thoughts that come up against you, they say things contrary to what God has said for eg. He call you precious, he calls you the apple of his eye, so you need to take these thoughts captive to Christ. That is our job.. Does it make sense now or it doesn't?

@ridingbet A great way to study is to teach yourself. I have always employed that method.

I do it freely as no one will think that I am talking to myself as they would probably think I am on a cell phone (lol)

Don't you hate is when you're trying to talk to yourself and some rude person is giving you weird looks? I'm like "Um This is a private conversation!"

I always have a positive conversation with myself. There are times when I have negative thoughts, but I hurry up and erase those thoughts. I believe we cannot control the thoughts that come into our minds. But we do have the power to change the thought process. There are times I have to think about what I am thinking about in order to keep my thinking positive. That's where the conversation comes in. Also when I do talk to myself I don't have to worry about it getting out. It's just me, myself, and I ??
