I usually use soap with antiseptic properties like dettol, protex and sometimes even herbal soap with antiseptic properties. I don't suffer from any skin infections, but it has become a habit with me to use an antiseptic soap. From what I read, I don't think i makes much difference, if you don't suffer from any specific skin conditions. What about you? what type of soap do you prefer?

I use an antiseptic one for hand washing. For bathing I don't care that much. I even use a regular soap.

I use hypoallergenic/dermatologically tested soaps. Just mild ones. I have sensitive skin.

@pitsipeahie Yes, mild soaps are better if you have sensitive skin. I remember for babies, we used to use Pears soap, which was supposed to be very mild on skin.

@Happy2BeMe Yes that's a very popular one among ladies. My mom loves Dove too, that too imported. Everytime I come home back from ship, that is the first thing she checks. There is no much difference between Dove manufactured in India and elsewhere, it's just her mindset.

Plain soap, sometimes antiseptic soap. Antiseptic soap helps a little, but it has no effect when meeting a resistant bacteria. And I prefer plain soap because our skin has good bacteria too and I don't know if it's ok to use the antiseptic one, it may damage the good bacteria. Guess there are up and downs, in the end, the choice is yours .

@Kasjnak That's a good observation - good bacteria! I didn't give it a thought.
