As a fan of Memoirs of a Geisha, i looked forward to going to the Fushimi Inari - the one with the orange poles. We did not have much time to really enjoy it though, when we actually got there since there were tons of people and we had another appointment. We wore kimono in the afternoon though, that was fun and very constricting I actually felt dainty while wearing it.

That looks a beautiful and colourful place with all it bright colours. I will be visiting Japan in April this year. I would love to see a Japanese lady wearing a kimono. Maybe I could try wearing a kimono yet my son would probably find this boring. I would love to buy a Japanese costume doll. I collet costume dolls from different countries.

There is a place in Chiba where boys can dress up like samurai. It's one of the historical village museums but don't remember the name. He'd love it.

What is this place all about? Is it a temple? I can’t wait for the chance to go to Japan!

I'm not really sure if it is a temple or a shrine though

Looks like a shrine because of the shape of the gates. It would be a Shinto shrine dedicated to Inari, the fox god (part of the Japanese pantheon) rather than a Buddhist temple. I think.
