What in the world is wrong with me?

No, seriously, do you know? Stomach cramps that are kind of weird. It's more around the outside of my stomach. They are somewhat mild in intensity. No nausea. I think I had last eaten cheese. Though I can't rightly be sure. That was the other day, now almost the same thing, but not quite as intense. Sort of a tightening in the tummy area. No, I'm not overly full. I know how that feels. This time I had eaten feta cheese. The last time it was colby and jalapeno cheddar jack. A friend said "maybe it's A2 allergy." What do you think it is? I don't think it's lactose intolerance, but I wouldn't rightly know. Cheese is the only dairy I've had lately. I drink Almond Milk, and no it's not that as the pain doesn't come with it.

It's not the cheese, it's the almond milk. The cheese you ate does not cause problems to those who are allergic to lactose. I know, because I cannot drink milk, but I can eat "dry" cheese. People who are allergic to lactose have side effects of almond milk. Mainly abdominal Issues and cramps.

Really? I know that the a2 allergy is a protein allergy and so not completely a lactose thing. I don't disagree with you, I guess I need to evaluate everything I've eaten. I have consumed almond milk close to, or alongside the cheese. This is also the cheaper brand, I usually get the regular brand. I don't think I've had any problems with it.

@LadyDuck I'm going to read the back of the carton. I've had another brand with no problems. I just had a cup and my stomach is starting to hurt just a bit.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I had problems with almond milk that, as a matter of fact, contains a lot of ingredients and not only almonds.

You should research in the area and see if you can get farm fresh milk, its the only one I can actually drink without getting ill, and they have told me I am lactose intolerant since I was four.

That's not a bad idea. All I know is it's either the cheese or the almond milk. Someone above said it was most likely the almond milk. I just had a cup and my stomach is starting to cramp a bit. The kind I've been getting is walmart brand and says it's "ultra pasteurized". I've had the silk brand and I don't believe I've had any problems.

@thislittlepennyearns I'll ask around. My aunt and uncle might know where to get some.

I hope you can come to a solution or a cause at any rate. It is not comfortable to have an upset stomach or pain.

I have not had the pain in a few days. I need to do an experiment. A few people here have suggested it was the almond milk. I need to drink some and see what it does to my stomach. If it does nothing I will know it was the cheese. Others have said maybe IBS and since it runs in my family.. It could be that as well. You know how i feel about healthcare and going to the doctor. I'm not going to waste my money when it's not anything serious.

A friend of mine had to have her gallbladder out. Every time she ate anything with dairy she would get violently ill. Everything she had her gallbladder out she could dairy again.

@shaggin I am hoping it won't come to that. I am lucky (knocking on wood) that I don't usually have bad health.

I am never violently ill, thankfully. I suppose if it feels any worse then I'll have to go see a doctor. A lto of money to shell out, I don't have insurance.

Thank You. I still haven't figured it out. Another member suggested it was the almond milk. I haven't had a cup of it today. I suppose I need to see if my stomach acts up after drinking a cup.

@didinedhia I agree, and yet there are so many who aren't given the chance to be.

It could be Irritable Bowel Syndrome or Inflammatory Bowel Disease. You should go see your doctor. Or, to start, eliminate cheese from your diet. I stopped having cereal for a few months. I decided to have a bowl for dinner last night and within 20 minutes I had cramps. No more milk for me.

IBS is a possibility. I believe several people in my family have it. Actually, I have a friend who says she may be experiencing it as well. I am going to talk to her and ask her what her symptoms are.
