If the future depends on the current generation, do you think the world will be a better place?

The world is in chaos. in all possible sectors it is possible to find some absurd news unfavorable to minorities and / or promoting a small part of the population that owns rights and lots of money.
So considering this scenario (especially with regard to education)... Do you think the current generation will be the light at the end of the tunnel for a more promising world?
I wish I could say I'm more confident, but I'd be lying.

Only thing that will get done is playing on a cell phone, no talking just texts.

I have second thoughts of this generation. There maybe ideally few but more are not what it seems to handle the future.
