Have you ever wondered what makes people sick and why there is so much sickness? Do you think that there is more sickness these days or less? Is it bad food? Is it lack of exercise? Is it a bad attitude? Is it negative emotions? Is it pollution? Is it too much sitting? What do you think makes us sick?

I like your list, and would add germs to it.

I think no matter what we do we will not escape everything as the air is polluted and so is the water and the soil. We need a big clean up that only God can do. I hope your cold goes away soon!

A combination of all. A bad attitude (negativity) can lead to bad eating habits. Of course the food they are already eating could be contaminated or otherwise unsafe. I am sure your news has reported what's going on down here in the US. The FDA is essentially shut down but they are trying to get workers for the "essential" stuff. I scratch my head at that. I know it's not the FDA's fault and they are only doing what they can with what they have... Anyway, I digress.. Lack of exercise can cause some problems because it can make our muscles atrophy (I think that's the word for it), it can also cause bad attitudes. I'm not saying that exercising is the key to happiness just that being more active makes people happier. Honestly? It's rather like a circle or flow chart, it all interconnects. People are unhealthy because of interal or external factors, environmental factors.

That's a well thought-out response. Yes, there are many factors and so if we want to avoid or at least reduce the frequency and severity of getting sick then we need to be aware and avoid things that can increase our chances of becoming sick and do things that promote heath.

@1hopefulman One big thing is to be aware of the ingredients in our foods. We could be making ourselves sick because we are allergic to things and not realizing it. Not to mention that there are somethings, atleast here in the US, that should be outlawed but that are used in cooking. HFCS for instance.

I believe what makes people sick is a bad attitude. Holding on to grudges. Not having a forgiving heart. People who stay stuck on mad! When you continue to have dis - ease in your heart. Being mad over something that happened 2,3,4, or even 5 years ago. You are bound to be sick. Your so busy being mad you don't realize what its doing to your body. Your thinking what's wrong with me I don't feel well. I would say you have un- forgiveness disease. What makes this so sad is, while your still being unforgiven and stuck on mad sick as a dog. The person you are mad at is living their best life. Not even thinking about you!!

I agree with you that holding on to grudges and being resentful and hating is harmful. I will keep working on being forgiving.

Great Rolling Stones song Felix Oh yes, why do people get sick? Hum, I think you touched on a couple of key points there exercise and diet. And getting to upset without a stress reliever can affect one's health negatively.

While it's probably true that less people exercise these days, it's most likely a bit less about overall personal health than it is externals. With bad food, I assume primarily raw/undercooked as that's what causes the most illness there. Outside of that, it's more that the bacteria and viruses that cause the various ailments that we get are more resilient now, as well as more strains of things like influenza that have developed over time.

@i3clynn I find that if one keeps their immune system strong and healthy it goes a long way in reducing the possibilities or the severity of catching viruses and microbes. Healthy food Enough sleep An active life

@1hopefulman The only problem is that, with things like the flu, we can only take our best guess as to what the most prominent strains will be in the coming year as we can't include components to effectively combat them all. I believe in 2017, there was a larger percent of people who got the flu after getting the vaccine than normal. That would have simply been because the most educated assumption ended up incorrect.

Personally it could be a lot of things, but overall I think Health problems are getting worse as time goes on, partly because of people's eating habits, and then also due to Doctors and their lack of knowledge or wanting to care about someone. It amazes me how many Doctors still think you're not Diabetic unless you are running 300 or higher. They tell their patients 250 is good.

Environment is a factor, poor eating habit, lack of exercise. But I think it's mostly due to people's own personal habit.
