Today, as I mentioned in my previous post, we are celebrating MAKAR SANKRANTI.. So basically we have a holiday and we are just enjoying good food prepared at home and also given by neighbors..
It was fun to have so many sweet dishes in one day and sleep in the AFTERNOON.. I generally don't sleep in the afternoon.. Now it is my turn to cook something, as my mom has done her part in the morning..
Makar Sankranti is all about peethey and payesh for us..

Here is the link to a few dishes which are made in different parts of India.. but I think some of the best dishes are missing.. One being Dudh Puli.. That is actually the best..
As mentioned before, the way it is celebrated and the dishes are different in different states..

Well, I have talked a lil about the festival in this post and wiki link is also there.. Pls respond there if you like it..
Today is the day when we get to eat special sweets, which are prepared at home specifically for this festival.. My mom is busy in the kitchen while I am busy MY...
