False panic alarm on our security system

Yesterday I came home from work and disarmed the security system as I always do. There were no issues. I went into the bedroom and got changed from my work clothes into gym clothes. Then my phone started ringing and it was the security system company. Oh no. I immediately answered. They asked for my name and security password and then said that they received a panic alert and the police were on the way. I was like "I successfully disarmed the alarm, it didn't go off, and we DON'T even have a panic button here! Tell them not to come!" While she tried to cancel the call, 2 cop cars showed up. It was awesome. The officer was very nice. He could see that I was relaxed and I told him that I had successfully disarmed the alarm with no issue so I didn't know why they had received an alert. He asked if there was any sign of an intruder. I said no. He didn't want to come in to verify or ask for my ID but I think that's because the security company had, by this point, told them that I had given them the proper security code word. I changed my phone password several months ago after I had a fight with my husband. I've been in the habit of using that 4 digit code. That is also the 4 digit code that my husband entered into the security system as a "panic" code for me. I think I just wasn't thinking yesterday and entered it thinking I was simply disarming the system. Needless to say, I've switched my iPhone and Apple Watch back to the original passwords. I don't need to piss off the local cops any further with false alarms. We've already had a few over the years with Sandy setting off the motion detectors when he shouldn't have been able to do so.

My husband had to disable the motion sensor upstairs even though it was set for 40 pounds because the little $hit set it off like 3 times somehow. The lines were very high as well so the jerk was jumping up very high on shelves, windows, etc.

I'm glad everything is all right and you changed the passwords so it won't happen again.
