Television has radically changed in two decades. Everything is streaming and cable as the networks continue fading away. All the award winning and talked shows seem to be from Netflix and HBO. But has overall quality diminished? You be the judge.
“Home Improvement”: “Tool Time” with Tim Taylor! This was the 8th and final season for the sitcom as star Tim Allen called it a day while still strong.
CBS Sunday Movie: The days of network movies are long over. No more made for TV movies or premieres of theatrical releases.
“Touched By An Angel”: Could a family oriented faith based series about two angels helping people be on network mainstream TV these days much less garner strong ratings? Unlikely. The series remains popular in rerun.
“60 Minutes”: The old warhorse of a news show is never ending and everyone has watched it at one time.
(Tie) “Veronica’s Closet” and “Jesse”: Two forgotten sitcoms starring Kirstie Alley and Christina Applegate whose ratings were illusions from being sandwiched between “Friends,” “Frasier” and “ER” on NBC’s Must See TV Thursdays.
Monday Night Football: “Are you ready for some football?”
“Frasier”: Everyone remembers this hugely popular much acclaimed long running series starring Kelsey Grammer.
“Friends”: No explanation necessary. A colossal hit.
1. “ER”: The most successful medical series in TV history that launched George
Clooney to major stardom.
Were any of these shows among your favorites?

I loved Home Improvement! I'm full disclosure, I own five seasons of it. If you liked Touched by an Angel (I had the soundtrack) you might like God Friended Me, or so I've been told. I loved Friends until they tried to put together Rachel and Joey. Even then I liked it a lot. And who couldn't love Monday Night Football!?
You remember CBS doing all those Jesse Stone movies? My dad loved those.

I always checked to see what movie was on... but most of the time, it didn't interest me. I hate sitting for any length of time, so I had better want to see it or I will give it a pass!!

I didn't watch much TV back in the 90s--I was too busy having fun!

I have seen all of Home Improvement 2 times, all of ER twice and Frasier 3 times and I am ready to watch all over again. However, believe it or not, I have not watched all of Friends except for a few episodes here and there. Anyway at that time I was living in Riga, Latvia so I watched these shows online through different sites.
