Things that I did not know.They had a special on Carol Channing The lights on broadway was dim for a time. When I say Hello Dolly with Streisand and saying what?why not Carol. Ms Channing was very upset about this. They figured Streisand will bring in the crowds(not) The movie did okay but not a blockbuster like Funny Girl. Yes Carol would have made this film the biggest hit. Watch the video .

@amadeo Barbara has a very good voice but as a person I do not like her. That is too bad that Carol Channing did not get the part is too bad.Wait I thought Carol did play Hello Dolly?

She is very eccentric. Can honestly say her talent made her. People with weird personalities do not do well these days. Well. that is not true. Let me do that again eccentric and quiet does not do well these days. Acting a fool seems to do very well, but that is a different story and probably outside this conversation.

Hmm, yeah they about money now. It really has hurt the quality of things and to me how competition should work. As Mike Ness says, never worry about the young bands makes me do better, try to do better. More or less anyway. I want them to play with us so we can put on the best show possible. This is a fun video. Thanks for sharing buddy.

Carol certainly had the personality. Barbra had the better voice, but zilch personality. A friend of ours is related to her and thinks so , too.

@DianneN I liked Barbara have many albums there.Carol was a Broadway star But I do think that she could have put this off.I was told Gene Kelly did not get along very well with Streisand.She had to be perfect The movie did not fare too well even the other on On a Clear Day was ok.
