The cold makes my chest hurt

Ever since my heart attack and heart surgery the wind and cold makes my chest hurt. I always have to make sure I wear a scarf. That helps with the wind but not the cold so I always bundle up the best I can. I have talked to the cardiologist about it and he said it is normal to feel this way. It is just a reminder of all that I have been through and that I am living with heart disease.
I sure will be glad when this winter and cold weather is finally over with. Spring can't come soon enough for me.

@Happy2BeMe I was flabbergasted as I'd never heard of it either. You wouldn't think it would be possible.

Yeah I can't wait for winter to end. I think Lily (my cat) can't wait either. She is stuck in the house with me today.

Cold weather makes your heart work harder to keep your body warm, so your heart rate and blood pressure may increase. Also low temperatures cause your blood vessels and arteries to narrow, restricting blood flow and reducing oxygen to the heart.

Keep warm; it is common for those with surgeries to have the affected area ache when it is cold.

This has brought new meaning to "long winter."
