Met my step goal for yesterday

How is everyone doing this Wednesday morning? I am returning to work after a nice three day weekend where I feel like I got lots done! It will be a long day (10a-1p and then 2p to midnight). I won’t be working the ENTIRE time but doing this extra special project, so at least there’s that. I am usually really active in the spring, summer and fall and every winter, while I still go to the gym, I miss those outdoor walks and hikes that really help me stay in shape and motivated. Just for fun, and because I had nothing going on beyond some household stuff, I made it my goal to hit 30,000 steps. Sometimes I would in the summer time when going to state parks or while hiking nearby. I hit 22,000 with little effort but then my body got pretty tired. So i took an hour and a half nap and then met a friend at the gym. We did a lot of time on the elliptical (which seems to not count your steps quite as much as power-walking) but managed to hit over 30,000 by nights end. Now that I know this is possible, even during the winter, I think I am going to try every week or every other week to hit 30K just for fun and for added exercise. Most days i reach 10-15, but sitting at work all day doesn’t help much. Do you make step goals each day?

No goals. I walk every morning up to an hour. Plus get up and move around through out the day.

I don't really set any goals for walking, although I do check my phone every week or so to see how many steps that I've taken in the past week. At this time of the year my walks really consist of indoor steps, mostly at work as it is a very big building. I hope that your long day goes well today.

@maezee I do not go to the gym but we have no elevator so I go up and down the stairs of my building. I thought of going up and down our steps but that is kind of weird so I do my only two step back and forth.

30K steps!?! Wow that is awesome! I am glad when I can get to 10K which is rare.

Yes. I agree sometimes the 10,000 can be a lot especially if you have a lot of other things going on.

@maezee Even with working out today I only got 6,000 something lol. But yes, that is definitely true!

Making a goal. Its good. I want to start morning or evening work after 6th of next monthas my daughter's final exams over.
