Why G+ Is Shutting Down

I have read a post from @youless this morning, where she informed that Google+ is shutting down. Some user think it's a hoax. Well, it's not a hoax at all and it's a very serious matter that should concern those who had an account. The past month of December, Google revealed that a serious security flaw "could have" exposed the users profile information (names, email addresses, ages and so on), this for about 52.5 million account, this violating their privacy. Unable to fix the bug, the company announced the shut down of the site for August 2019. As recently they had an additional security flaw, they anticipated the shut down that for the month of April 2019. If you feel concerned, cancel your profile now, do not wait until April 2019.

I'm so glad I don't have an account with them. They are not the only ones with security issues, and August seems too far away to wait.

I am thankful that I didn't open one of those accounts. You have to be so very savvy online, those who offer too much stand to burn.

I never give too many personal data online, I do not trust those big companies, I know they sell our data pretending that they have security flaws.

@hereandthere You know there is something that we must keep in mind. Once we publish something on the Internet, if it is accessible, could be accessible to hackers. To be safe, never give our REAL data.

I didn't actively create a G+, but had the feeling that G opened one automatically. It is worrying that these big tech companies seem to have epic security fails on a regular basis

I closed my G+ account this morning, I do not trust a lot those big companies. I am sure that they are closing this site for another reason, it was never successful.
