For those of you with grown children how often do your children call you or come visit You? And for those of you who still have your parent how often do you call them or do visit them?

I usually call my parents around twice a week. =) I don't get to visit because they live states away.

My mother is deceased. My father lives across town, well technically another town. He doesn't text me much. Birthdays, Holidays.. I don't call him anymore. That's a long story, or maybe a short one.

Our son and his wife usually call us or we call them (usually its facetime) at least once a week. Sometimes schedules get out of control and our times off don't line up and we may chat more then once a week or less, but we text every few days. My mother is ill, and her illness has been coming on now for a very long time, so I have kept away and haven't talked to her in a very long time. I pray for her every day. My Dad passed away, and our family has really fallen apart since his passing. I sure wish that he wasn't ill and didn't have to suffer and die young like he did.

@Happy2BeMe It breaks my heart, but I understand it. My mother has been on a downward spiral mentally which has lead to her recent diagnosis of Alzheimers Disease. But it doesn't excuse the way that 2 of my 3 brothers behave. That has something to do with why I keep my distance, and sometimes that is the best way to love and respect people.

I am neither but when my dad was alive I seen him daily, he lived beside me. When I went on vacation I called him to let him know I got there and when I was leaving. I seriously miss my dad.

Awwww that is the way my dad was too. We lived a distance from each other but whenever I went to visit I always had to call to let him know that I made it home safely. He would wait for the call and couldn't rest until he heard from me.

I talk to my kids through textasfor seeing them I have not seen them in a long time because they live in another state and when me and their father separated and got divorced they chose to stay with him. As for my mom I talk to her at least every other day and see her when I can.

I recently lost Mom... but we chatted on the phone daily. She loved talking about the family tree! We see our kids all the time! Just finished babysitting our granddaughter and she was in tears that she had to leave. I guess we are just fun to be around lol!

Since we've moved, our kids have all visited once. They will visit again this year (that's the plan). I talk on the phone every week or two with two of them.....every moth or two with the other three. When my parents were living, I dropped by once a week.

That is nice that even though you now live far from each other you at least get to talk often and it is nice that they all have been to visit you.

We lived 3 1/2 hours from my parents and would visit about every three weeks. Now our sons are 4 hours and 24 hours away by plane so we see one most years and the other about every two years. They are not able to visit us at the moment.

@Happy2BeMe It's bad enough but now we're getting older it seems worse. How many more times will we be able to make such a long flight? But it's fine at the moment so I'm staying positive.

I am usually the one who has to make contact with my son, although I do hear from him ocassionally. He called the other day, and I was thinking, please don't let it be bad news! Just calling to say hello is rare for him. Fortunately, it was a social call... I see him periodically throughout the year. My parents not too often, but they are much farther away.

I live with one and hear from my other two almost daily. Occasionally, a few days may pass if things are super busy between them but in all, we keep in touch often. My parents are gone but when alive, I talked to them often, almost daily.
