Some Rules Do Not Apply To Jim Bauer

I GET #2 and #3. But #1? Frankly it makes no sense to me. Granted, it MAY well be that I am biased since I happen to vape... And by the way I will NOT follow the no-vape rule, nor do I ever. I crack my window and blow most of the water vapor out the window... Yes. I put the words "water vapor" in bold. Because that is what it is. Water vapor. The "passive smoke" if you want to call it that, that I would leave behind is no worse nor no more harmful than the steam from my hot shower. Look, cigarettes will make the room smell horrible. And no one wants to have some residual effect (nor smell) from pot. These are no brainers. Duh, really. In a way I am doing the hotel a favor. I am FRESHENING the air with my vape. My favorite flavors are blueberry cheesecake, orange bar, cinnamon roll, and peanut butter. None of these smells can possibly be offensive. And besides, the truth is that none of these smells from my vape are even lingering after I leave. So WHY the policy? What's the point? As for trying to charge me a $250 cleaning fee, that is never going to happen. I am in Wyndham hotels more than 75 nights a year. Sometimes 100 nights a year. I am a diamond member. They would not dare try to lose my business over such a thing, and you can bet I'd fight it to the letter. Could I get a smoking room at any of these hotels where it is allowed? Sure. But THOSE rooms stink. I'd rather get a non smoking room and vape till the cows come home in it. And in fact, I do.

I don't really get why people vape but that's okay. I also think it is a terrible word - vape - but that's okay too.

@porwest True. It intrigues me why we like the sound of some words but not of others. I mean - what is there about 'vape' that's not to like? As a word I mean, not the action.

As much as we don;t know yet about any effects from vaping, I still think it has to be WAY better than smoking. Vape is just short for vapor, and I guess since there is no "smoke," calling it smoking would just be silly.

F the rules. Ha ha... $250 is crazy... We have a rule here that if you are caught smoking in public by a police officer one will be charged by $10 or 8 hours of community service, cleaning the police station bathroom.

You mean to tell me you waste money vaping?!?!?! Vaping causes popcorn lung, no treatment for that. AND Yes you can smell vaping. Maybe it wont funk up a room in one night but let me tell you I have had people rent that vaped and over time it does not smell good. I agree those smoking rooms stink. The dog rooms stink.

No idea since I do none of these, and this seems like a new rule.

@CarolDM The no smoking rule is an old rule in a lot of states, but it just depends on where you are. But the no vaping rule is certainly an extension and new.

@porwest I heard it from somewhere. I'm glad there aren't any reported cases.

There have been zero reported cases of anyone developing cancer from vaping. Granted, there is not enough data. But there are no carcinogens in vape juice whatsoever. None. So, not sure where that might have come from.

@just4him One day I am sure vaping will have SOME effects. But who knows what they will be or if they will be serious.
