The other night--on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert--Trevor Noah (host & producer of The Daily Show) announced this piece of 'startling news' ... https://youtu.be/GrtYLEt64gw?t=500 ... that "Politicians aren't trying to 'serve their constituents' so much as they're trying to 'get voted back into office!'" I'll give you time to recover from the 'shock' of such a 'startling revelation' (see picture) ... But ... maybe that's one of the gifts of the comedian---the ability to present eternally-old truth as "new news." (That's why I think Jesus was a stand-up comedian---think; you never hear that He went out to spread the Good 'Same Old Facts that have been True since The Beginning' (although that's exactly what He taught, it's always called 'News' ... literally "new things").) That, and ... maybe they still teach school-children that 'American politicians dutifully serve the American people with no thought to their personal fortune.' Maybe Trevor Noah should team up with Adam (Adam Ruins Everything) Conover

@mythociate What else do you expect man, it is what it is. Politics is the art of sharpening the tongue to cut down a Mahogany tree..lol hope you get the point.

But we teach kids in school that Politics is (I'm guessing/remembering-from-MY-school-days) like a high-school janitor without a mop

I love anything involving comedy or sarcasm. Some people do not get sarcasm which can be frustrating.
