Valentine's Breakfast & Snow Day

We woke up early to get Eli ready to go to school because I figured it would not be cancelled since the roads near me were not too bad, but when we got there we were told it was cancelled. Had I checked my e-mail, or the news website I would have known before getting up so early!
I guess the roads out in the country part of where I live are horrendous, even though the main roads are clear.
So we decided to go to breakfast while we were out. I am not really a breakfast person, so I got fish and chips (well tater tots). It is going to be a cheat day for me since it is Valentine's. I know that my sugar will spike, but I am not doing this every day. I am going to try to go a whole month before the next one, but we'll see how that goes.
How is everyone's Valentine's going....and if you don't celebrate, then how is your Thursday?

That sucks that you had to get out of bed early to find out there's no school.
Hope you enjoyed your fish and nothing going on here.. just drinking my coffee and mylotting.

Had I seen the e-mail last night I would have known to sleep in lol.
Wondering if he'll get tomorrow off too.
The fish was great, tots were not the best because they were cooked too long I think.
Later, we might go to Arby's -- that's what I wanted for Valentine's lol.
Hope you are enjoying your coffee, and it's awesome that we're both mylotting right now!

@hillhjill The fish was delicious though :) I would have ordered the waffle fries like before, but they didn't have them on the menu...so I chose tots.
That is true, haha....or at least the news site that posts closures.
And that is awesome :)

They'd be so excited for that, kids always love a snow day! My son probably would too if he was old enough to read about it being cancelled!

@DocAndersen Yes....but they will happen! I do enjoy every day with him, just don't enjoy the 5 year old tantrums! lol.

Why does that food make your sugar spike? Is it because they are made of potatoes which is carbs that break down to sugar?
That stinks you went to take him to school and it was closed but sounds like you made the most of it by going out to eat.

Yes, carbs are not good for me (I am diabetic) so anything like that will make my sugar spike. I have had a full on cheat day though, and it is surprising how many carbs I had. Posting about that later.
It's my fault because I didn't check my e-mail or the news to see that it was cancelled before we left, but I didn't expect it since the roads by us were clear.
