Have you ever played scrabble?

When it comes to board games, Scrabble is one of my favorites because in addition to the dynamics of the game itself, I always improve my vocabulary because learning new words is constant.
Of course also because it is a very fun game (especially when you play with friends

My mom and I even taught my 7 year old niece how to play two years ago.

@WiseGhots yes. Thats around the starting age they give for playing. As kids the age should know how to spell and count

When I was a kid me and my siblings including my dad played scrabble. I did the same with my son.

Yes, many years ago I would play it with my sons when they were young. One Christmas they got the game. It was always fun.

@WiseGhots Yes, I have good memories playing board games with my kids. Two other games we played a lot of were Monopoly and Yahtzee.

The game of Scrabble has been around for a long time, from the 1940's, I think.
I also enjoy a game, now and again. There have been a few spin-off games from Scrabble, but none are as good as the original is, I reckon.

Yes, I use to play with friends when I was younger. Now I'm hooked on Sudoku. Since I live alone, I can do these puzzles every day.

Eversince my ex-girlfriend beat me in a game of Scrabble with the word 'SYZYGY' I have avoided playing it. Syzygy is a valid word, but to me it's still bogus... B-O-G-U-S!!!

It is a great game. When I play, I can get too hung up on Aesthetics. I'll miss points because I like the idea of getting a certain word on the board instead of just shooting for max points by combiniing words etc...
My favorite way to play is to give each player 9, or, even 11 tiles instead of 7. It seems to speed things up, and allows for bigger words.

@WiseGhots It's an option mentioned in the official instructions, so it's not really deviating from any of the rules, and it does make for a much faster game, if you're in a crunch for time.
