What Would You Do...

We just went food shopping yesterday and stocked up on everything we needed... but here it is lunch time, and I can't think of a thing that I want for lunch... nothing. I am even considering left-overs and they are usually the go-to when I don't feel like cooking but they aren't appealing to me either. So, what do you do when you are in this predicament... and it's too cold to go out. I know all of the things that we could have... I just don't want any of them... And if that isn't bad enough, today and tomorrow are NO SUGAR DAYS... Maybe if you tell me about your favorite lunch... maybe comfort food from when you were a child, maybe something will jump out at me!!!

I had a tuna fish sandwich. Not that exciting, but it's food. I toasted the bread and had a handful of potato chips with it. That sparks it up a little.

Oh... tuna!!! I actually have a can of that and completely forgot about it. There's sooo much you can do with a tuna sandwich... I like pickles on mine! That just might have been the chosen one today... if I had thought about it!!

I agree. Ordering a pizza sound nice when you don't want to cook and don't want to go out.

grilled cheese and tomato soup! I was thinking about that for lunch,,but since I am having a Lean Cuisine for dinner..I didn't want all the extra salt. I ended up just eating yogurt and half a banana.

@Hate2Iron Yeah, unless it is homemade, its pretty much a salt bomb.

@snowy22315 why don't "soup companies" slowly begin eliminating it!! No one would even notice if it was done slowly. They would save money too!!

No favorite lunch, as we have the same food for lunch and dinner. And every food to me is comfort foods, lol. We had turkey and mashed potatoes for lunch today.

We have always gone... light for lunch and heavier for dinner... not the way you are supposed to do it I know.... I could barely finish my fried egg and cheese on an English Muffin. In a couple of hours it's going to be time for dinner. Here's hoping that I will be hungry. I have had a rotten appetite lately!!

@Courtlynn Yes... smaller amounts would work!! Hmmm that could help take care of left-overs too!!

@Hate2Iron we usually have the heavier food for dinner too. But like i said, we eat the same foods, for both meals. Just depends what we're hungry for.

Looks like everyone was having pizza today! That's what I had a few days ago... I think that i'm going to have to keep the freezer full of them. It certainly would be fast and easy and not a lot of cleaning up to do!!

If it's lunch time and I don't know what to eat, I always resort to peanut butter. Btw, it's never too cold where I am. We are in Florida for that very reason.

Oh I wish... but my blood sugar has this way of dropping like a stone and the outcome is worse than not being hungry. I have learned from experience that I HAVE TO EAT regardless. I just have to learn not to be picky lol!!

I had a turkey bacon club sandwich on garlic bread for supper.. I did a post on BBQ chicken today so that has inspired me to want to make shredded BBQ chicken i have the chicken in the freezer store bought so add a little BBQ sauce and bake in the oven with a baked potato.. That's my supper plans..when i cant decide on something to.eat i usualy look into some type of potatoes for inspiration because you can fjx then so.many different ways that or ill.make egg or tuna salad something easy ..

We have been lucky enough to be able to find a company... Morning Side I think it is that makes all kinds of faux meat... their bacon is awesome... and just a couple of nights ago we had tacos... with not a spoonful of real meat in it. And garlic bread... that sounds very decadent!! ;) So I could pretty much duplicate your sandwich without much work at all!! Now BBQ chicken... that might be a bit trickier lol!!

When all fails I use peanut butter and jelly. For lunch I usually use my flat bread and put lettuce, tomato and anything else in the fridge, often leftovers...

Maybe you face that predicament because you have a lot of food around and you dont know which one to take. I always experience that because my wife and i just love to stock up not just food but all the supplies we need at home.
