How Much Are You Willing To Pay For A Cell Phone?

I have never owned any of the latest fancy phones and I have been ok with that. My cell is actually a small cheap phone provided free by the government for low income individuals. A few days ago, I tagged along with friends who were going to upgrade their phones with Verizon. They were in there for quite sometime and I got a chance to play around with the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 that was on display. I fell in love with that phone and all of the features. I especially loved that it came in purple which is my favorite color. So, since I have a jetpack with Verizon that I use for internet, I decided to see how much more I would have to pay if I added this phone. The free phone I have does not have service everywhere I go and since I camp in remote places, I could use a better phone. Guess what..... That phone cost like $1000 bucks! Adding it with payments to my plan will double my bill and I can't afford that. Holy cow! Nothing like getting a reality check on cost to stop wanting a phone like that. I would have loved to have a great phone like that, but it is not worth the cost to me. I will continue to use my camera for photography, and my laptop and tablet for online fun. These are things I've owned for years and requires no monthly bill. Lol! So, how much are you willing to pay for a cell phone?

I dont pay for the big expensive phones either i am on cricket and don't pay over 40.00 a month for my bill i did do an upgrade on my phone as i don't have internet and use my phone as a computer and mylotting.. My upgrade was under 100.00 .. I did that awhile back but if i can afford to soon i hope to add more data to my phone as it is slow once i use it all i want the unlimited so my photos will.load quickly there very slow loading now and drives me nuts I hope to add the unlimited data next month it will raise my bill to around 55.00 .. Which is not that bad Seeing as i dont have an internet bill..

Nice! I pay $103 a month for internet with my Verizon jetpack. My hubby has one and I have one so that we can use our own data. Living on the road, we both need the internet but did not realize our free phones don't have service everywhere do wevhavevto consider getting a Verizon phone. I may just pay for a decent one I could afford and add it to my plan for just an extra $20 a month.

My phone cost 100 dollars seven years ago, and it was used. I'm good with it.

I think my phone (a Nokia) costs about 800 euros, with insurance and with the possibility to swap it for a new phone when I've had it for a year. It's in the expensieve range for Nokia phones, 'cause the cheaper ones don't have good enough cameras. I also have a DSLR if I want to take decent pictures, but the cheap cameras really annoy me. This phone isn't as good as my last Nokia though, not when it comes to having troubles with cold weather for example. Pluss my Nokia Lumia just bounced if I lost it, it never got ruined. But windows for phones didn't get any updates any more, so I had to switch to android.

I had a very basic lg joy for 2 years. Then I thought I lost it and bought another phone which did cost more than I wanted to spend but I now really like it. Cost £75 which is $96. It is a nokia 3.1 which is fairly basic for a smartphone but I think it looks good and does everything I want...only issue is it runs out of battery quite fast.

@MistyckMoon I'd recommend looking at the nokias as they are quite cheap, they look good and they seem to run everything I need. I notice you mention photography so I'm not sure their camera quality in the 3.1 is very good...wasn't something I was bothered about but if you are maybe look at the 5.1 or another manufacturer.

I'm considering getting me a good decent prepaid with Verizon that works in most places.

I think everything will depend on how much I have available.

True. I could not afford it. I just liked the idea of combining my photography, art and writing all on one device.

@MistyckMoon I know what you mean, but sadly... This means more and more money.

That would be so convenient as you can keep earning even when you are not home.

I bought an OPPO set two months ago and that was the costliest one I have possessed in my life.It came for my hard-earned 145 dollars.

my boyfriend has one of those free government phones. Not because he can't afford another phone, but because he doesn't want to pay for one, and he's approved for the free so no need to. I on the other hand have a Samsung galaxy s6 phone, that I got four years ago, and paid off two years ago. As the payments were monthly, with our regular bill. Eventually, I will be getting the s9.
