Why are parrots so funny?

Today I was walking in the park and I ended up finding a family that was with a parrot and I decided to approach them to hear him speak.
So, I questioned if they taught the parrot to speak, and they told me that he learns by listening and doing repetition exercise.
I even managed to teach him a new word: fun. After some time, he said the phrase: "Let's have some fun!", haha! It was hilarious!
Have you ever tried to taught a parrot to say something?

I like parrots too - the temptation to teach them swearwords when the owner isn't watching is very high

I had a toy parrot that would repeat everything one said about twice in their language. I think when they talk they are really funny in what they say.

@WiseGhots Yes, I would like to have one. But I have a cat. I wonder what my cat will do with the parrot.

Usually it takes a long time of them hearing the same word for them to pick it up. My parrot looks very similar to the one in the photo. She clearly says hello since we got here but anything else she says she mumbles when we aren't in the room so it's hard to understand what is being said.

I had a friend who used to keep a parrot. I did speak but nobody dared go near it 'coz it would bite your finger off

No. I'm not a parrot lover.Parrot is my childhood trauma (now it's funny but then was not)
As already mentioned,I do not like them and the word I would try to teach them,to take revenge would be Otorhinolaryngology

I haven't, but I think people are fascinated by talking birds. I haven't seen one in quite awhile. If I was really interested, I guess I would look at some youtube videos.

When I was young my friend had 3 parrots. They would constantly say what they heard, but a couple of the parrots were not friendly.
